welcome to the kind life!!
My favorite actress,
I am looking so forward to being more involved in this site and in exploring and making healthier choices.  It's like I was telling "modelmotion" (a guest on this site), you have been an inspiration to me and this is a good way to stay focused on a lifestyle other than the one I can get diverted into sometimes (ya know those cute little things that come 20 to a pack?).  I am very proud of you and the choices you make.  I wish you and  your husband much happiness and thank you for this site.

very good way to bring up your work on market, Alicia
is that book only in english?
i think, theres not much vegan books available here, where i live
I love how this forum has your touch all over it. It's so nice that you actually answer questions and post videos to keep us all in touch.

Just got the book yesterday, I have been a vegan for a few years now. When I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease I found the vegan diet to be best, now I have become a an animal lover and a green gal! I already pretty much follow the SuperHero Diet, but I avoid soy. I can't wait to make some of your delicious recipes!
Love the video!
you are amazing! the book is wonderful & the website is king GREAT! keep up the good work!!

I just picked up the book today after seeing you on the View. It is amazing!!

I have recently (the past year) gained weight and have become totally unhealthy - it was a slippery slope after I abandoned my vegetarianism 4 years ago when I turned 30 after 15 years of being a vegetarian !!   I cannot wait to get started on this.. i am going grocery shopping this week and then IT'S ON!!

My only problem? I have a junk food eating, meat eating (but incredibly amazing) boyfriend and I am really scared of the temptation I'll be facing in terms of food choices. I really think your book will help navigate my way though tho!

Thanks again for the book.. I am LOVING it already! You are an inspiration and u may have  just changed my life!
I have not gotten the book yet so forgive me, anyone, if I ask questions that are answered in there.  I'm really not vegan or vegetarian although I do think it's the way to go.  I could start light by finding a sub for cheese or a cheese that a vegan would recommend.  I have Safeway, Food Lion, Acme and Trader Joes that I can access.  Anyone...?

Whole Foods has some good options for cheese substitutes.  My favorite is the "rice" cheese, not the "soy" cheese.  Not sure what other people think.
Thank you Miles.  I just bought the book about an hour ago.  Talk at ya in the forums.  Go Alicia and Chris!!!!!!!!smiley-cool.gif
Alicia, after being a vegan since 09/20/2004 4:41pm I had to say thankyou. Thankyou for a book that puts all of the information in one spot. I think all vegans who have had to tell interested people "look here" or ummm " I forget why" can back me up by saying you have created a masterpiece for all of us. You are an incredible person:)
Hi Alicia,You have been such an inspiration to me since I was a young girl.  Aside from being a great actress (CLUELESS!!, Excess baggage, The Crush, Blast from the Past, etc.), I think what you're doing to better the world is really admirable!  I'm so excited to start reading your book.  I've been a vegetarian (struggling vegan) for 10 months now and I feel and look so much better!!  Spreading the word about vegetarianism can help save the animals, save our health, and save the planet.  Keep on inspiring and educating people! Thanks for all you do smiley-smile.gif
Hi everyone.  I recently posted about a presentation called The Greenness...that I thought I would go to at  USC, Los Angeles for my 10th year reunion.  I'm getting cold feet about making the trip across country due to finances and a job loss.  I would love to record it an post the audio.  Your prayers that I would make it out safe and back are welcome.
Thanks, Blake
I just viewed the little Peta scrolling videos under the main one that Alicia sent and I was affected pretty strongly by it.  I am definitely going to think twice before reaching for an animal product.  Actually it was quite sad and thought provoking.  I've been meaning to ask about stores selling other products like clothes that would be vegan and I have a website bookmarked call The Vegan Life.  I just don't blaze through a book like some of you so I'm probably not aware of info regarding this in there (read the TOC maybe Blake, yeah if there is one) Umm...I hope this doesn't offend anyone but maybe that kind of stuff (Peta Videos) should be put in text and videos put in a place that's accessible to people if they want to view it letting them know the severity of the content.  I think it sort of goes against the idea of hoping people will ease into it as a flirt and not feel repulsed by the website.

Check out Daiyafoods.com  They have just introduced the BEST vegan cheese.  You can find it here in Los Angeles at whole foods.  This cheese melts and taste just like cheese!!
