I have been following a vegan diet for 3 years and 5 months ago i started adding fish back into my diet. I feel guilty every time I eat it. After reading this book it has got me re-focused and I remember why I went vegan in the first place. Thanks Alicia!!
I have been a vegetarian since 200 and went Vegan in 2005. I purchased the book yesterday and love it. The recipes look amazing! I loved Alicia since "Crush" movie. She is amazing and so beautiful. I'm so happy with her writing The Kind Diet. Many blessings on her and her hubby.
This book is what I have been waiting for. I need to loose weight but want to do it the healthest way possible. Goodbye meat and processed foods for me, I am embracing my new way of life!
eat regular food from super hero section.....and add the drink at the time of day it says...reread weightloss section and the drnk recipie...i think thats where it all is. have fun!
alicia, your book is amazing! this site is amazing! although i'm new to veganism, i'm already trying to tackle the super hero recipes. you truly are an inspiration and all this veg information and support is changing my life. please, keep up the great work!!!
Alicia, I cannot thank you enough for sharing your insights and writing this book. I just got it 3 days ago and I have not put it down! I am 27 years old and I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have constant pain and I was realizing certain foods made it worse. I was on the PETA website and I" pledged to be a veg" for 30 days. That is where I learned not only about your book, but other ways I can help the environment. This is my ninth day being a vegetarian, and I cannot tell you how much I already feel better. My pain has decreased, and it is allowing me to do more yoga, and exercises. I think I am almost ready to become a vegan and become glucose free(that is something that is advised for fibromyalgia sufferers) I think it would be awesome for you to interview the little girl with arthritis, and possibly other people that have overcome illness from switching their diet. You truly have changed my life with this book. There were days that I could not get out of bed due to pain, and now with all the education that I have received from the information you have shared, I am now living life again to it's fullest! If I feel this good only after a little time, I cannot imagine how I am going to feel in 6 months! Also if anyone has any great glucose free recipes, please let me know!
My husband just read the China Study and was compelled to change our diet! Coincidently, your book just came out and we ordered it right away. We had already phased out sugar and white pastas a while ago and had added more veggies, but now we're committed to going vegan. Thanks for writing this great book!!
Just thought I'd share--Alicia's book sold out at the two B&N locations here, and last week no umeboshi plums, plum vinegar, etc. at Whole Foods, but this week, a whole shelf dedicated to them. Yay!
