Welcome to The Kind Life
Hi i am a newbie as well.  finished the Kind Diet Christmas day, a present from my daughter.  a perfect follow up to Dr. Fuhrman's Eat to Live.  i am looking for assistance changing the time on my posts, it reads west cost time.  i am in massachusetts.

HI!
New to the group!
I live just south of Atlanta, and in the South it isn't always vegan friendly.
I've been a vegeatarian for 6+ years and was vegan for 1.5 years. I started back on dairy and eggs a year ago (pure laziness...there is no other excuse)
I am transitioning back to vegan.
I've gained a good bit of weight back. I am sure it is due to pre-packaged easy vegetarian meals, dairy, and not enough live or living foods.
I am active with a daily yoga practice. But my diet and lack of healthy choices is taking a toll on my practice as well as my day to day energy levels.
It has become very easy to be an Unhealthy Vegetarian. I am trying to change my ways! So why not with 2010 and with the Kind Diet as well.
Much Love.

Hi all, my name is Terra.  I live in Oklahoma where you'd think going vegan is pretty foreign but when I bought The Kind Diet the girl working at the book store said she had read the book and went vegan too. Pretty random(or was it?).  It's nice to know I'm not the lone new vegan in this town.  So far I am absolutely loving my new eating habits!  I'm looking forward to better health and quality of life in the New Year.
Hi everyone...I just got the book and I'm looking forward to changing my lifestyle.
Good Evening everyone! My name is Luciana and I live in Chicago. I am thinking of a return to the vegan world. I was a vegan "flirt" in 1999-2000. I came across information about Alicia's book yesterday and watched a talk that she gave at a bookstore about the book. I was very taken by some of the things that she had to say. Needless-to-say, I ran out last night to buy the book. I decided to challenge myself to live today without consuming any animal products. As my day is coming to a close, I am happy to say that I did it! Wow, what a delicious day it was! I had some spicy grains for breakfast (I will see if I can figure out how to post the recipie) with green tea. This was a big one for me, since I am a two cup of coffee girl every morning. I used my challenge as an excuse to take my mom out to eat for lunch. We went to this amazing place called Karyn's Cooked. My mom, who turns her nose up easily at most foods really loved it. She had an eggplant dish and I had the flautas. YUM!!!
I decided that I would make Alicia's Magical Healing Soup for dinner since I have been fighting a sore throat since waking up this morning.
Ok, I apologize for rambling on, but I am very excited. I am not sure what tomorrow will hold, but it feels great to be cooking amazing healthy food again.
Good Night Everyone :)

Hello all! My name is Kristyna. I am 25-years-old and living in MA currently. I heard about TKD about a month ago and just discovered the site. Although my mother was a vegetarian for about 10+ years throughout my adolescence (and I felt the positive impact through that) mostly I've had pretty bad eating habits recently. Due to this fact as well as my affinity for going green and doing my part to help our ecosystem, I'm ready to change and that's the good news!
After reading so many positive things on this site today, I am ready to get the book and go for it! Wish me luck, and the same to all of you!
Glad to be a part of this community!Have a nice night everyone!

Hi, I am buying the book tomorrow and I am very excited!! Let the journey begin....

Hi, I live outside Atlanta and am new to the vegan life. Health reasons have caused me to "flirt" with being vegan. And I remembered Alicia wrote a book on it.  I can do vegetarian fairly easy but I am hoping I can do this too. And I am hoping it helps me lose some more weight and feel better!

I am impressed that Alicia has this website and follows it and did not just write the book and that's all. And I love having this site too for info. Thank you!
Hello everyone!
I am very excited to find this forum.  I have been a vegetarian for 13 years, but lately  I have become a bit 'sloppy' with reaching for quick meals that involve eggs and cheese.  Thanks for the inspiration!!  Just got an e-mail from Gaiam selling Alicia's book! YAY!!
Hi all! I'm halfway through "the kind diet", and wondering how the heck i'm going to feed my husband in the middle of winter in massachusetts?!?!  I'm ready to transition into a vegan lifestyle, but is he?  any thoughts on how to keep us both happy??
Hi Everyone,

New to this community, but I'm excited to be a part of the discussion. To sum it up, I am exhausted having to explain to others why I chose to be Vegan. It's a relief to be surrounded by like-minded people, who understand, and chose to live a life of meatless and dairy-free bliss.

Hi guys!  I have yet to introduce myself, though I've been reading this for a couple weeks now.  My name is Landree, and I've been a vegetarian for five years.  I tried going vegan a couple of times, but never really understood the careful nutrition needed (at least for me---I get sick a lot) to really feel healthy and do it right.  So my doctor (holistic health no less) blamed my lack of energy and good health on my vegan diet, and I returned to vegetarianism, not going all the way and eating meat like she wanted.
THEN, I read about Alicia's book in VegNews, and I was very intrigued.  Reading it, I learned so much more about nutrition, and felt completely equipped to do what I thought was ethically responsible.  Not only that, but as I'm sure the rest of you agree, she wrote as if she were writing to a good friend--what an encouragement.
NOW, because of going completely vegan for about a week (and done healthfully--those processed foods rob me of energy), I've been feeling so good I haven't even been drinking caffeine!...though that addiction to occasional cigarettes needs to go....
Good luck everyone!:) Peace.
