Hi! I received The Kind Diet for Christmas (because I asked for it
Hi!! A good friend recommended i buy or read The Kind Life, as I had been toying with the idea of becomming a vegetarian for some time now. I bought the book last Sunday and it made such an impact on me that by Monday I had decieded to take all meat out of my diet, and after a quick trip to the shops I had replaced milk with Rice milk.
Chocolate is the most challenging thing to take out of my diet, but I will explore non diary chocolate once my current supply has run out.
As I am coming up to the end of the first week, I find myself craving the taste of my former favourite meat meals, and as my husband is a chef and loves his meat, it is challenging not to be tempted. Did anyone else find they had these find of cravings and how long did it take you to overcome them?
On the upside I am loving how I am feeling after only 1 week (except for the horrid flu like symptoms and headache I had yesterday from detoxing I suspect) and am looking forward to all of the benefits living the Kind Life will bring. I have always done my best to make a positive impact to our environment and now feel even better
Hey there everyone,
My real name is Dawnn... This is my first time logging in onto this site. I am a newbie all the way around. Today, was the first day of opening and reading my book the kind diet. I am currently on page 15 of the book. I bought this book in the summer time to start reading. And it has taken me this long to get it down from the closet shelf. Better late then never right...
I signed up to the site, and started reading the book all in one day. Not to bad for a days work... At least I have fianlly started my road down this journey. I know that everyone's journey is not the same. For those of you who are interested in my journey. Mine goes something like this... I am a 37 year old female, who is simply wanting to eat healthier. Feel better emotionally and physically. I'm not wanting to start a diet. I'm not sure where I'll be on the Vegan scale. 0, meaning Not at all, 5, meaning maybe Veginish, or 10, winding up be Vegan all the way. In a nutshell, time will only tell. I need to finish reading the book. Try some recipes. And see where this directs me in my journey.

Hello everyone. My name is Lisa and I'm from Rhode Island. I picked up the Kind Life book after watching Forks Over Knives and Food Inc; and absolutely love it! Although I've never been one to eat meat, I've had the occasional chicken breast , etc. I've recently decided that if I want to "flirt" with being vegan, then I needed to do it the right way and eat healthier plant based and whole grain foods. I admit, for some reason I'm scared and don't know why I am. I feel like I don't have enough support around me to be able to accomplish this, like I'm afraid to do it on my own. I'm hoping that though here I can get as much support as I can to get on the right track and not fail at something I really want to accomplish not just for myself but for the environment.
Hello there!
I'll probably be an irregular user, but we'll see... I'm a vegan, friendly, reasonable gal, and look forward to interacting with you.
Hello, I´m Isabel, I´m 34 year, I´m from Spain. I started to be Vegetarian in 2010, now I want to be Vegan. I´d like advice about vegan nutrition. Also I´d like a vegan/vegetarian penfriend, I´m learning english and I can teach spanish :) I can tell you how can I ´m vegan/vegetarian in Spain!!
Hi everybody! I have been a "flirt" when it comes to changing the way I eat and my lifestyle for quite some time now. I first read Alicia's book about a year ago and could not stop thinking about it. I've never been more health conscious than I am today. Also, after viewing the documentary "Food Inc.", I knew I no longer wanted to contribute to that area of the food industry and to the hindrance on the environment it causes. That was six months ago, and I feel it's time now to take the leap. I'm ready to become a vegan and I am so joyful about this new journey I'm only just beginning. I hope to learn a lot from everyone here! I know this is going to be a gradual progression, but I'm ready to be kind to myself, eat a kind diet, and live a kind life.

Hello My name is Carrie. I turned to a vegetarian diet 6 years ago due to health issues. Since then I have seen how animals are treated in factory farming & I am horrified. I am now glad to say it is not only because of health reasons but also because of my ethics.
I would love to go vegan but I am having real issues with finding a good 'cheese' in my area (Philadelphia, PA) & I have no idea what to sub for eggs. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you.
Hi Carrie,
Depending what you are using if for I often use hummas instead of cheese, on things like pizza I use hummus or simply don't have cheese on it. I'm not sure about soy cheese in your area but you could try the local Whole foods market, I believe there are 2 in Philadelphia. If not when you google Philadelphia and vegan cheese lots of places seem to offer vegan cheesestake so one of those place may be able to tell you were to try. As far as eggs go many recipes you can simply leave them out, there are plenty of eggless recipes online or you may be able to get an egg replacer online or at a health food shop. Otherwise look here for other suggestions.

Best of luck!
Hi. I have recently just signed on to this blog after seeing Baby Bear Bird Feeding. I did that as well 11 years ago when my first son started transitioning to food. However, the discussion I would like to post is about Herbal rememdies for ADHD.
Thank you!

Hi my name is Jamie Rain. I bought the Kind diet for myself as a birthday present. I am not vegan, but I am seriously considering it. I'm a little bit afarid that I wil not be able to give up cheese... but we shall see. I have not eaten any meat for years, so I guess this is the logical step. I'm a bit nervous, but excited as well. My long time boyfriend is not a veggie... but he is thinking about making the leap... so here is for a healtier happier life and planet.
