What lovely ideas! And of course not eating meat, dairy, and other animal products is so much gentler on the Earth!
Thanks for sharing!

Happy and Healthy Hannukah. I am Jewish but not religouse. I will definitely talk to others about conserving our electricity and I will try to go eco friendly with my menorah. It is my first Hannukkah as husband and wife and I want to start out the tradition right =) I am so excited =)
Much Love and stong hugs from Israel, Happy Hannukah everyone!
6 weeks vegan and counting, First Hannukah trying to make latkes with no eggs, any suggestion?:)
Great post Alicia. I love thinking of Hanukkah as a holiday that celebrates a little bit of energy going a long way. Brilliant!
Oh honey - have I hugged you today?? :D You are awesome, thanks for this post - so cool and so much stuff I didn't know about. Ya know, it's occurred to me too, that certainly part of of the Hannukah story is one of conservation, and that in conserving we're tapping into something much larger that ourselves.
It's so funny you mentioned reusing old cards - my friend and I totally do that - using them as gift tags, etc.
Giiirl, are ya kiddin' - nerd on out, that dreidel is OUTRAGEOUS in the best way! And I hope I didn't weird you out with the whole silverware thing before - LOL!! :)
Ooo! I love this! I've never never thought about Hanukkah this way. I'll be sharing this with friends and family at our Hanukkah party on Sunday. The perfect way to share a little GREEN. Happy Hanukkah.... xo
Happy Hannukah, Alicia! You can be sure I will pick a day to not drive during the Holiday. I married into a Jewish Family. And with the chilly drafts in our home, I will get an Energy Audit asap. Keep up the good work!
Happy Hannukah Alicia and everyone else who celebrates! This year I will be making vegan latkes (I wonder if anyone will notice) with my homemade cinnamon applesauce. I like the conserving energy take on this holiday. Now to go get candles for the menorah.

Happy Hanukkah! I'm so glad your addressing this issue. I'm not jewish but have been trying to figure out how to conserve energy while while still some Christmas spirit. I'd love some suggestions. Thanks, Meg
I like the steel & cork version myself. I'm glad you included the eco friendly dreidel ... great project for kids.
You are so thoughtful, thanks!
..er, what about the "May not be copied without permission" on the Dreidel page?
WHAT IS THAT REDICULOUS CEREMONY WHERE A CHICKEN TO SWAWNG AROUND BY THE LEGS TO WARD OF EVIL AND PROMOT HEALTH AND PROSPERITY. IT IS TOTALL CRUEL...DOES ANYONE KNOW ABOUT THIS
