My favorite bags are OBOEbags from a company called One Bag One Earth (www.onebagoneearth.com) Made from reclaimed fabrics, these are using existing materials that we're destined for the trash.

Price is reasonable ($5.95 - $7.95), super compact and durable, and in over 50 different designs and patterns. All of those other Enviro-bags are just making new polyester and green washing them as a great eco-bag.

The guys @ OBOE either do reclaimed materials or recycled RPET (plastic bottle fabric) bags...no new manufacturing of virgin materials occurs.

You asked my favorite? There they are :)
I know they're probably not eco-friendly at all, but Target does very often sell vegan leather bags. I bought a cute yellow one that was made out of a very soft aged-looking vegan leather and it's still kicking over a year later. (I use it every day!). So if you want a new bag and you can't afford Amber Pollard or Matt & Nat, definitely check out your local Target. You can find out if the bag is leather or not by looking at the little tag inside the bag.

Target aside, I love LOVE love the Gecko bags. Each one is unique; they are so cool! Where else can you get an amazing do-gooder bag that is totally handmade and unique for under $50? And cute too?!

Vera Bradley is another easy to find choice. They can be pricy, but if you snag them at a sale, they're totally reasonable. I like to support Vera Bradley because her line of bags are all 100% vegan, and I like labels that do not sell any leather products at all.

Also check out Matt & Nat. The bags are expensive, but THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. I have a black one that I get compliments on ALL THE TIME. I -LOVE- telling people that it's vegan. They look so surprised!  Keep in mind that Matt & Nat bags RUN VERY LARGE, so if you're ordering online, make sure you pay attention to the dimensions given.

My favorite bags are the Chico Bags available at Greenfeet.com ($5each), I'm notorious for forgetting my bags at home and this bag rolls up into a little pouch so I carry it around in my purse everywhere I go. It's super durable, machine washable and holds a bunch of stuff(I have a few of them)!  Oh ya they come in a bunch of different colors.

I love Crystalyn Kae handbags. Handmade in Seattle!
These little puppies are amazing too!

Reusable bags for produce... no more using those awful plastic bags from the roller dispensers anymore...

They're only 3 for $15!! I bought a bunch for holiday gifts.

Alicia,
your link to amberpollard.com DOES NOT WORK for me...does it work for the rest of y'all ?
never mind--got the 1st link to work...showing the bag Alicia likes = pictured above. :-))
i LOVE the feed bag.  you can get a really cute zip up one from whole foods.  a portion of their proceeds goes to a charity as well.  plus, lauren bush just partnered up with bobbi brown and they are offering a cute feed compact bag with some of bobbi's lip gloss.
I prefer the reusable shopping bags from One Bag One Earth. They are made from reclaimed materials that would have otherwise been thrown in the garbage. Check them out at www.onebagoneearth.com .

Most of us already have a ton of bags stashed around our homes. I think the best thing you can do before going out and purchasing something new is to make use of one you already own. It might not have been intended for the market but if you can haul things in it, go for it! One of the greenest/kindest things we can do for the planet is to avoid purchasing things that use energy to be shipped around the planet.
