I'm really hungry around 10am and 2pm? Suggestions while still adhering
to Superhero?
hey Karen I get hungry in the afternoon too and I just go with it...I will have some veggie chip with hummus or just some cut up veggies with the hummus or a brown rice cake with peanut butter on it it might not be strictly superhero but I find if I don't eat something when the feeling strikes I will way over eat at the next meal and that usually means supper for me and that is not good eating that much that late at night for me.
Micki's suggestions are great.
Karen how long have you been doing the superhero diet? Over time your stomach shrinks, and your body will learn to process food better leaving you feeling more full throughout the day. I eat WAY less than I used to and do fine with 3 small meals a day (sometimes 2 even). Be sure you are chewing your food very well :)
When we switch from a meat-centered diet, which is high in fat and oil, of course we are going to be more hungry. Be sure to get good quality oil in your diet which will help you feel more satiated. When you switch to a macro diet, after a while you really don't have to stress out about how much fat you are getting (within reason of course). Our diet society is so crazed about fat, calories, etc. but it's important to get small amounts of high quality oil in our diets for brain function, healthy joints, and to feel satisfied.
Best of luck!

Superhero for about 7 weeks. And since I have an obsessive/compulsive nature, no easing into it for me! I had to go from carnivore to Superhero right away after reading TKD and did pretty well for about 10 days. Then at Christmas I made the rice krispy treats and ate them all, then about a week ago i made a batch of the pbutter cups and ate them all in about 2 days.....took me about 2 days to recover, mostly from the spiritual of allowing myself to go there. Although not like eating processed foods or white sugars. I've struggled with compulsive overeating my whole life, but this has been the easiest and most spiritual journey to date. I don't struggle at all with the vegan / macro, but still find myself eating for comfort. It's a heck of a lot better than it used to be though and the past 2 days I haven't gotten hungry until I realize I haven't eaten in a while. Since I'm also doing a pretty strenuous workout 3-5 days a week, I just finished reading Brendan's "Thrive" and and incorporating some of his raw energy bites and smoothies. Thank you to you all - this site is such a blessing because of all of YOU!
