San Francisco Superheroes
Hello Everyone!

I am a hip San Francisco 20-something gal living in the NOPA neighborhood interested in hosting superhero get-togethers/dinner parties/drinks etc. I am less than one year living in the city and am over one year as a vegan superhero. Sorry there won't be any white flour/sugar/greasiness at a potluck I host please!

If you're interested in some vegan outreach, making new friends and possibly adding a new weekly or biweekly social event to your calendar, respond to this post and we can all figure something out. And spread the word to your non-kindlife.com posting San Francisco people. Berkleans too!
Hi Casey! I live in Albany! Would love to attend a vegan superhero potluck some time... I have a pretty regular 8-5 so any kind of weekend would be great! Always love meeting local veg friends!
Hi Casey & Allison, I live in Berkeley! I would love to have a potluck sometime! I've been doing my best to stick to superhero goods, too. :) Let's find a time to meet up!
Maybe we should meet up for a coffee date? How are your Sundays? I'm going to put out there this Sunday at 4pm... Maybe at Guerilla Coffee (is that any good?). Let me know what you guys are up to...
Allison! Unfortunately I'm hosting some family this weekend and will be gone on Sunday but Sundays are usually good for me.
I was actually planning on inviting ya'll for a get together/meet up for next weekend (the one after this up-coming one).
I think coffee and walking around would be nice! But let's stick to a meet up close to BART for Caroline.
Let me know if next weekend would be good.
Hi!  I'm usually free on Sunday afternoons.  BART is great, but I also have a car for a few weeks while my friend is out of the country, if necessary.  I'm excited to meet you gals! :)
Let's go a bit more into the future, here...

What about Sunday, Feb 7?

In the afternoon?

Here? http://local123cafe.com/

Or here? http://www.villagegrounds.com/

Both are totally eco/sustainable coffee, in Berkeley within a few blocks of BART/bus.

Maybe 3pm?
Hi!  I'll have an out of town guest that Sunday, so I can't meet.  Could we meet the Sunday before, 1/31?  I live 4 blocks from Local 123- it's cute!  They have nice green teas, too. :)
I found another thread on the forum for Bay area people: http://www.thekindlife.com/discussion_posts/list/2/6158/1
Yay! :)
Hey all! This is very exciting. I'd love to participate in a vegan potluck! Also- perhaps some fine dining at local vegan establishments.

I live in the city and rarely make it out to the eb. So if you all decide to bring a meet into the city, I am down to join. I can also host a potluck if you all don't mind sharing it with 4 cats. =)

Hi everyone!  I live in the NOPA neighborhood of San Francisco (perhaps I've passed Casey on the street?!) and have been eating vegan for 2+ years.  I would love to come to a potluck or try out different veggie restaurants.
I want to try eating the superhero meals for a few weeks so would enjoy hearing about how other people are doing with the plan.  Currently I am working on cutting out refined sugars...it is very hard!  I love the sugar monster ;-)  But a potluck would be a great excuse to try out some of the "dessert" recipes in the book.

Hello All,

Lindsay we're neighbors! I am looking forward to meeting all of you. I would like to host a potluck as I've just moved so we have a good amount of space with not a lot of stuff.
We could all meet for tea at a Somavar or place near a park and walk and chat and get to know each other.
Also, there is a vegan Bakesale to benefit Hait at Patricia's Green tomorrow, the 23rd from 11-4 in Hayes Valley. If you're free you should stop by. If you're being a superhero, you can just donate some dinero. I will be donating baked goods (something with squash in it since I got WAY too much in my CSA box)...and also making a sign!
Anyway, I can host a potluck (early dindin?) on the 31st of January which is a Sunday.
I can make the staples: brown rice, miso-veggie soup and everyone else can bring interesting vegetable dishes to go with.
Do let me know what works!
I think I could come on the 31st if it were in the evening.  What time are you thinking?  Also, if people are bringing dishes from TKD, maybe they should say so, as to avoid too much of the same?  What do you think?

Hi All!  I'm in the transition from vegetarian to vegan, not sure if I'll wholly make the switch but have given up dairy and am interested in cooking and dining vegan and superhero (I'm also reading up on macrobiotics because I'm finding it really interesting).  I'd love to meet you all!  I'm living in SF and working in Berkeley, so I can meet on both sides of the Bay (although usually prefer not to head out to the EB on the weekends since I'm there M-F).  Let me know what you all decide.

Hey all-
The 31st works for me. It will be me and my boyfriend (also vegan). I love the Samovar idea! Maybe we can have a meet up at Samovar first to meet each other and plan for a potluck next month during. Or we can dive right into a potluck, but I think meeting everyone first in a public place would be a great ice breaker.
