San Francisco Superheroes
I had to do something else at the last minute. Sorry about this. We'll figure it out.
No problem ladies.  I had a good book and a nice cup of tea.  The servers at Samovar are really friendly and chatted with me for a while.  So no worries, I had a good time!  Let's try again sometime soon.

Eek! I flaked as well. My boyfriend was really sick this weekend and i ended up taking care of him. So sorry Martine! Let's all try this again soon!
Hi Ladies.  Should we try meeting up again?

Martine
Hi Martine,  That sounds good to me! :)
Anyone want to try to meet up this Sunday?
Martine
Hi to everyone on this thread. I'm not from San Francisco but traveled there last weekend. I ate at Gracias Madre resturant on Mission St and the food was delish. Lots of Superhero items on their menu. Their kale was yummy!
Thanks, Run4Fun- they just opened that location (Cafe Gratitude is the same owner).  I've really wanted to check it out!  I just tried The Plant Cafe Organic (Pier 3) and it was great!!I also just stumbled upon a new place in Albany (by Berkeley in the east bay) called "Nature's Express."  It's all vegan (not all superhero, but delicious!)Manzanita in Emeryville is my FAVORITE!  It's on 40th Street.  It's a vegan, macrobiotic restaurant!  They have one fixed plate (w/ different food every night) you just order small or large.  I eat there all the time when I haven't grocery shopped or just have the itch to eat out. :)
Gracias Madre - thanks for mentioning that!  I have heard about it and plan to check it out.  Also I love Plant Organics....there is one in the Marina too.

Hey everyone!

Have you guys started meeting up? I live in Berkeley and would love to join in!

Best,
heather
We haven't met up yet.  I'm in Berkeley, too! :)
Ok it's been a while since the last post but I came across this hilarious vegan blog the other day written by some San Francisco vegans and wanted to share:
http://vegansaurus.com/
They have local restaurant reviews and all sorts of vegan-y things.  I learned (after the fact, so sad!) that there were some local vegan bake sales recently and am now checking out their site regularly for other local vegan events.
There's another thread of San Francisco folks, and they're planning on meeting at Gracias Madre this coming Sunday (27th) at 1pm.  I'm going to try to make it.
