Does anyone know of any shampoos and conditioners for oily hair? I have been using Earth Science unscented but I think I may be allergic to it. All the vegan shampoos I have found are geared towards dry/damaged hair. I need something clarifying not moisturizing. Thanks so much!
If you are interested in going profession and vegan, and as a hairstylist i'm so happy this exists, its Pureology.  They are very concentrated so only use a little bit.  They have a clarifying formula (in a green bottle).  Check our their website to see where you can buy it in your area.

Thanks for the info Andrea. My sister loves Pureology yet it did not work for my hair at all.
I also use pureology for moisturizing and I love it, my hair is thick and wavy, I only have to use a small amt. and it lasts forever. I is a little expensive at about $25 per bottle, but it is well worth it. They do have several types for different hair types.
I love Pureology. I'm a hairstylist too. My hairs very dry from hilighting and I think its great.
Terra, did you try the clarifying formula?  A lot of salons have samples, just ask.  I can't use the blue or pink formulas.. Everyone's hair is different.  And if you use too much, it will feel like crap.  I think the other girls here will agree with me in telling you to try again..best for your hair and you'll feel good about using it.
That is pricey for a shampoo.. so far I love Giovanni  and try rinsing your hair with Bragg's apple cider vinegar,,about 1/3 cup and fill with warm water after shampooing . Becareful as this will sting eyes, but massge it in well then rinse thoroughly as this will give body and shiney hair..and sometimes I skip the conditioner or just condition the ends. I would be lost without using the vinegar at least once a week. I dont have oily hair but still love the results.

I used all three different Pureology shampoos. They didn't work for my hair. The clarifying just made my oily hair even more weighed down. I was also not keen on the smell of the stuff. I am looking for something cheaper. I am going to be away for 5 months so I need to buy in bulk.
I have been using soapnuts. Which are fantastic. Unfortunately, I have to wash my hair every single day so it is not cost effective.
Do you have a LUSH cosmetics near you?? You can look them up online..they have shampoo bars that a few of my friends use with oily hair.
Hi Terra. I have oily hair too and wash it everyday. I like the 365 brand from Whole Foods. It comes in a few different scents and I find it cleans well. However, the conditioner leaves my ends extremely dry so I am still experimenting with conditioners. If you know of any...
This is off to skin products, but has anyone tried Dr. Haschuka products for face? My skin is oily and tends to break out easily and I'm looking to get off ProActiv. Any recomendations? I'd appreciate your help ;)

MerissaThanks for the recommendation. I will check out 365 next time I go to Whole Foods. The conditioner I use is Earth Science unscented. I like the conditioner. I just have a strange reaction to shampoos.I heard desert essence face wash is really great for oily skin.
Andrea I have tried the lush bars. I tried godiva and the patchouli one and it left some wonky film on my scalp.
We have hard water so I think it is contributing to the nastiness of my scalp.

I have to wash my hair every day because it can get oily. I just bought Whole Foods brand mint shampoo and the mint conditioner (Only $2.99 for a 16 oz bottle!!) I love it and it doesn't make my hair feel weighed down or dry. They have different shampoos and conditioners for different hair. For the price, you can't beat it!

Oh Terra..you're water is definitely making the difference.  that's rough.  Maybe you should put a water softener in your shower...it might be the solution to your problem.
For those who like the Pureology line, try out the L'Oreal Everpure line. L'Oreal owns Pureology. The formulations are almost identical, but the L'Oreal one (which is just as concentrated) costs about ~ $6-$7 :)
