So im looking for a Vegan cookbook but i dont know which one to get?
I bought the Peta's VEGAN COLLEGE COOKBOOK but i feel that many of the recipes contain lots of sugar, white bread (no grain) and many of the recipes have meat, egg replacement. In the book there is also used onion powder why not use a real onion??
The whole point for me of going vegan is to get healthier, and not eat animals or animal products. So with that said do anyone know any vegan cookbooks that might fit what im looking for?
Milla I got the same book and felt the same as you. I would also love to know of some really good Vegan cookbooks with easy reciepes that you don't have to search for the ingredients all over the place. Thanks
I have a couple vegan cookbooks I use all the time.

"The 30-Minute Vegan"
"The Complete Vegan Kitchen"
"How It All Vegan"

There are some replacement recipes and sweet desserts, but for the most part, the recipes are great!  I have made a lot of soups that have wonderful and natural ingredients and they taste amazing.  There also lots of grain recipes!

-Any and all of Isa Chandra Moskowitz' books! ("Vegan With A Vengeance," "Veganomicon," "Vegan Cupcakes Take Over The World," etc.) Also, she has a blog: http://www.theppk.com/

-"Get It Ripe" by Jae Steele (Part health book, part recipes. Incorporates vegan, raw, macrobiotic, etc.)

-"Eat Taste Heal" (not entirely Vegan, but is a great intro to Ayurveda, which is worth a read to anyone, vegan or not!)

-"The Vegan Table" by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau (great all-purpose vegan cookbook)

-"My Sweet Vegan" by Hannah Kaminsky (Dessert recipes only. So decadent, they easily fool any non-vegan!)

Thank you :) I will look into it
Wow these are all great. Thank you :)
I love Veganomicon.
I love Vegan Italiano and Mediterranean Vegan by Debbie Klein.  It doesn't contain any "replacement" products, nor anything you have to go to a specialyt store for (like agave nectar or ubemoshi plums!)

If you get the VERIA channel on cable, they have some good shows like "Naturally Delicious" which is all vegan and "The Sweet Truth" which is gluten and sugar free.   Sometimes it's nice to watch someone make something before you dive in!

I'm a big fan of Vegan Soul Kitchen by Terry Bryant and Tropical Vegan Cooking by Debbie Klein!
i love:

yellow rose recipes
eat, drink & be vegan
sweet freedom
vegan with a vengeance
vegan planet
&
vegan soul kitchen
I love The Urban Vegan!
Real Food Daily has the most amazing "cheese"  recipe I've ever seen.  Even fooled my carnivore husband when I made their mac and cheese and the nachos (wth same cheese) is to die for!  Cheese made from cashews.  Trust me.  It's not cheap to make but makes a big batch and well, really good cheese isn't cheap either!  When I need a cheese fix, this is where I go!
The Conscious Cook by Tal Ronnen is great!

I'm going to the library and checking out cookbooks to see what I like. So far my favorite is The Voluptous Vegan.

I figure it better to check out the cookbook before I buy it! :)
