Hey all! I had my gall bladder out one year ago. I've had a lot of digestive issues since then. :( I gained about 20 lbs. in a six month period in the past year. Since starting the Super Hero diet on 01/01/10, I've lost six pounds! However, I haven't lost any weight between week 2 and week 3. :( I'm hoping I'm not going to be stuck here, because I'd really like to lose about 45 more pounds to be at a healthy weight for my height (according to my physician.) I have not been exercising at a gym, but I have been active around the house and taking walks. I'm not eating any processed foods unless steamed brown rice counts as a processed food. I'm wondering if my missing gall bladder is affecting my ability to lose weight. :( Anyone with personal or professional experience please help! Feeling very discouraged...
Oh lord. I accidentally ate real sour cream last night that was hidden inside a grilled veggie dish at a friend's house for a party. :( I feel so crappy today and am experiencing major "bile dumping." How could a tiny smear of sour cream make me feel so completely awful? I think this is a perfect example of how my body rejects animal fats since removing my gall bladder... I wish I knew how to ease the symptoms. :(
Hi Heather!
I had my gallbladder removed in July and actually felt worse than before. I had chronic diarrhea andconstantly felt ill. I was researching and someone recommended Caltrate 660+D calcium supplement. It has helped so much. I take it once a day in the morning and have hardly had any episodes. I'm not sure where it fits in the Superhero/ vegan world, but is has helped me so much, I thouht I would share the information with you!
Keri, thank you for that information!!! I've been waiting a long time for someone to suggest something to help me out here! haha My own physician has been somewhat useless. She says I'm just eating too much because I'm not feeling bad anymore. Couldn't be farther from the truth! I'm eating little and feeling worse than ever, just like you. :o/ I will look for those supplements next time I'm down at my health food store. Thanks again!!
