Does anyone know of a good vegan restaurant in Vancouver, BC?
Foundation on Main Street is a great tasty veggie restaurant ... complete with reused 50's kitchen tables and chairs!
Any good vegan restaurants on Vancouver Island?
A couple of my favourites are:

-Bandidas Taqueria (vegan/vegetarian) on Commercial.
-The Naam (vegan/vegetarian) on West 4th.
-Radha (entirely vegan) on Main Street.
-Gorilla Foods (entirely vegan) downtown on Richards.

Hope this helps!
It seems like there are lots of great places in Vancouver, but I don't get over there very often. Does anyone know of any vegetarian restaurants on the island, anywhere from Nanaimo to Victoria?
Organic Lives is an amazing new raw (vegan) cafe on Quebec at 2nd in Vancouver.  It's all organic and really deliciously prepared.
In VIctoria:
- Mo:Le on Pandora Avenue - serve local meat items too, but lots of vegan options. The best tofu curry scramble!- Bliss Cafe (beside Mo:Le above) - raw food cafe- Rebar in Bastion Square in Victoria
I am interested to hear of any en route up the island ...
Great Thanks! I love Rebar and have been there many times. Next time I am in Victoria I will have to try out these other places too!
I don't know of any vegan places up Island. In Nanaimo there is a Delicado's which always has vegetarian and vegan options, and there is a tiny 'to go' lunch place callled Carrot on the Run, which usually has a lot of vegetarian options.

Thanks for the responses...I am just starting to try out the whole vegan/vegetarian thing so I thought going to a couple restaurants would help to see what great dishes there are.  Im a little skeptical that I can actually have good food without meat, dairy, etc.  So this will really be a great start for me.  Thank you!
Any dishes you could recommend?
Vegetarian in Victoria: I haven't been there for a few years and miss its amazing restaurants - most places, if not vegetarian, have veggie options.
Among my favourites:
Rebar (They've published a cookbook too.) and Santiago's (for the veggie burger).
Check out happycow (dot) net for other restaurants with reviews, maps, web links.

Ooooh for Vancouver, I can't believe nobody mentioned the Naam on W 4th Ave. The food is incredible and they're opened 24 hrs!! Its a very small place so there's usually a lineup but well worth the wait. Everything they serve is vegetarian/vegan.
I am soooooo glad someone posted this. I live on the Island but am always looking for vegan restaurants in Victoria and Vancouver.
In Nanaimo there is The Thirsty Camel on Victoria Cr.  which does serve meat but has vegetarian and vegan options. Plus they support local so there is tons of fresh food.
Also there is a cafe called Bocca on Fitzwilliam which always has Vegan baking and soups. On the same street and about 5 stores down is a Cupcake shop called A Wee Cupcakery which makes the most amazing Vegan cupcakes.  I repeat AMAZING!
Hope this helps!
In Victoria, if you want to shop at an amazing and delicious organic grocery store that has a to-die-for deli, go to Planet Organic...it's located on the corner of Quadra and McKenzie and has a lot of delicious vegan/vegetarian dishes!  They have an amazing lentil hummus that they make and also a mediterranean wrap that you can have grilled and it's full of roasted veggies and hummus!  MMM!  They also make these outstanding 'cosmic' cookies and they are vegan..the recipe is online!!!  I make them whenever a cookie craving hits!  I live in Victoria and love to explore new places!  Rebar is yummy and I am going to check out Green Cuisine in Market Square which is apparently a great vegetarian restaurant where you buy your food by weight and can take it to go or sit in....sounds like fun on a nice day to grab and go for a picnic in Beacon Hill!  MoLe is also delicious...if you want to check out a sweet farm market go to Dan's Farm on Oldfield Road...they have goats and chickens and rabbits which you can feed and pet and they sell so much of their own veggies and fruits so you can get tons of delicious local produce and eggs for those vegetarians out there! My 19 month old son is in love with it so much so we go at least once a week!  They even have frozen berries from their farm which are amazing in oatmeal or muffins or anything like that!  Right now they have local bok choy, kiwi, squash among other yummies!  Enjoy!
I just went to Green Cuisine with my sister-in-law today and my son (in Market Square, Victoria B.C.), and it was AMAZINGGG!  We had delicious food and Noah loved it so so much and they also have a play area for small children and really pretty painted walls so Noah loved that and it allowed my sis-in-law Ally and I to enjoy some delicious green tea!  MMM!  They also have an area at the front where you can buy some tofu made in Salt Spring Island and some mochi for a lot cheaper than they sell at the grocery stores!  BONUS!

Central Vancouver Island....in Qualicum Beach great spot to check out is RAWTHENTIC EATERY its fantastic.  Just went there for lunch loved it and can't tell you enough how yummy their raspberry cheesecake was....all raw vegan food....and their shakes and fresh juices!!!

Can't wait to try out some more places in Victoria next time we go down.  Nanaimo doesn't have a whole lot but Bocca is good and has a pretty big menu and variety!

FYI if you go to Gorilla Foods in Vancouver they only take cash, but loved the place, again awesome eating experience.
