vegan treats - soy lattes and orange juice!
Hi there!
I like the decaf lattes every ONCE in a while as well.  I did try the green tea latte at Starbucks and although it tasted yummy, I was not too sure about how it is made.  They steam the soy milk then they add this bright green powder.  The guy was about to squirt some clear stuff into the cup when I stopped him and asked him what it was.  He said it was simple syrup or something like that.  I know simple syrup is just liquid sugar so I told him I would skip that part.  When I took the first sip it was DELICIOUS, but VERY SWEET, which made me wonder what was in the green powder and also what kind of soy milk they used.
lattes are one of my favorite treats, as well as orange juice! Here in LA, at M Cafe, they just started carrying almond milk which is my favorite milk substitute, and you can order lattes with it! Omg it is SO GOOD! I only want almond milk lattes now.....i try to resist getting them and only have one about every two weeks. So yummy!

the soy green tea latte is great. I love all things matcha! the barista called it an AstroTurf latte because of the bright green color. :)

the powder is just matcha powder and you can ask them to leave out the syrup. since they use vanilla soymilk it is already pretty sweet.

Starbucks changed its soy milk not too long ago.  They used to use Silk vanilla and now use some generic brand made specifically for Starbucks.  It's much sweeter than Silk (which is flavored with real vanilla).  The first time I tried a soy latte with the new kind of soy milk, I brought it back because I thought they had given me a chai--the new soy milk drowned out the espresso so much, I couldn't taste any coffee.
Funny I had my first soy latte at Starbucks (decaf too) on Sunday and was surprised at how tasty it was (I don't frequent Starbucks nor do I have much coffee). My friend works at Starbucks and she said the soy Green Tea Latte is "amazingly delicious" BUT she coaches to order it without the Classic Syrup which adds sugar and she says it is perfect without. It's made with matcha. I haven't tried it yet but next time I need a treat it will be at the top of my list. She has also raved about the new vegan cookies they just started carrying by Dr. Lucy.
365 products are SO GREAT plus they offer the same products as the more expensive companies but sell them at a fair price and same quality! GO 365 :-D
Depending on your Starbucks, it's different kinds of Soy milk.   For example, if you try the Latte in any Target store, they usually use Archers Farm brand which is REALLY good and all natural.   The other one is in a tan box but I"m not sure of the brand on that.    Try the White Peppermint Mocha sometime.   It is made with syrup but, I trust it more than the chalky powder they put in the green tea and it's REALLY good!
They are currently selling Harvest Porridge at Pain Quotidien in NYC, which has almond milk in it, so if you ask for an almond milk latte, they will give you one.  I hope lots of people do, so they consider always offering them!
I am not a fan of the green tea latte.  it is way too sweet for me but I also like my tea plain.  But i love the soy latte for a treat once in a blue moon.  Also an amazing place i just discovered in Hells' Kitchen is a biscotti bar.  They have a great selection of vegan biscotti!  I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE!!! A must go to place. It is called Bis.Co.Latte Hand Made Biscotti on 667 10th Ave
(between 46th St & 47th St). ENJOY!
I also enjoy the Vanilla Rooibos Latte - without the sweetener. The green tea latte seems to be abnormally green, so I avoid it :) I'm bummed to hear about their soy milk switch...I'll have to ask about it next time I'm in.

I really like the soy green tea latte as well but not too often...just as a treat during the winter months to warm me up!
Starbucks Soy lattes were once an addiction for me. I worked really hard to break it, and have not had any for a few months. I am happy i broke that habit. When I feel more in control of my eating habits, i will treat myself to a soy tea vanilla rooibos latte. :) the vanilla rooibos is sweet already, so it will definitely be a nice a treat.

Oranges and other citruis are in season right now in Florida.  Just two weeks ago the orange trees, tangerines, lemons, grapefruits were being picked.  If you wait to harvest until after the first freeze, they taste great so late Dec - end of Jan is the best time to get them fresh.
We tried the Soy Green Tea Latte recently while traveling and my wife loves it.  It does taste great, but seems like it must have sugar.
i drink a decaf soy latte everyday(mostly just in the winter)!i know it is not nutritious, but I enjoy it and it gets me out of bed with a spring in my step...everyday enjoys a treat in my book:)
