Yes, try Barbara Currie's beginner yoga. It's the best one I have tried and very easy to see improvement quickly and there are several different easy segments to work on. She also shows the advannced stages as well so you can really progress.
Really strange to have found this thread, as i purchased a yoga dvd last night. I bought 'katy appleton's yogaworks series'. She's british and got a very good reputation, i bought the boxset but she covers all abilities working from beginner level through different dvds, you can buy individual dvds or the boxset. her website is - www.appleyoga.co.uk - got to 'shop' you can type key words into you tube to see samples of her and her dvds good luck x
You can go to www.yogajournal.com and download free 20 minute yoga workouts. I love it! I have been doing yoga for 5 years now and I love this website. Good luck.
A good place to get any kind of exercise DVD is your local library. The library I work at has a lot of options, including several yoga DVDs. You can try out a DVD for free without having to purchase until you know you like it.
I love YogaJournals DVDs. The instructors rock and the sequences are very doable. I teach yoga and I recommend them to my students for home practice. Netflix has a decent selection and yogatoday.com has online classes with cool instructors (and beautiful scenery).
Shiva Rea's Fluid Power Vinyasa Flow Yoga. This is a great DVD because you can customize your workout. There is also a beginners track and you can graduate to more challenging practices as you go on. There's a total of 212 min. worth of Yoga and mediation practices on one DVD. Shiva is AMAZING!
I actually got the Yoga Journal beginner series and am waiting for it to come, but Hillary Rubin's Yoga DVD is good. What I also found is Netflix, surprisingly, has quite a few Yoga DVD's so I put them in my queue to try them out first.
I like Kate Potter's Namaste Yoga! You can buy her DVD's online. It's really easy to start with and helps me stay flexible as well as keeping me stressfree and happy
I would try the Yoga Journal website. They have some really good podcasts for beginners as well as dvds. Yoga is wonderful for the body and even better for the mind. Have fun.
