fruit?!
where does fruit fit in? I eat a ton of grains and vegetables - but I also love fruit and eat it with almost every meal. at the very least I have at least 3 servings a day and sometimes up to 6. is this too much? will it hamper the weight loss portion? and if not, should i be limiting the amount of fruit i consume for sugar reasons?
We usually eat 2 servings of fruit a day, three at most.  We have been doing a diet by Dr. Mcdougall that is esentially vegan (sometimes he uses honey) and he recommends having 2 fruit servings a day.  I think that this is because of all of the natural sugar.  I'm not sure, but it may have an effect on your weight loss because of all this added sugar.  While fruit is very good for you, some are still considered high on the glycemic index.
make sure its local and seasonal too
I have heard that if you eat fruit for breakfast, and make sure it is at least 30 min. before comsuming anything else will help a lot. Fruit digests easily and quickly so make sure it doesn't get bogged down with other foods.
I have to disagree with fruit in the morning. If you eat something too high in (natural) sugar, say, a banana, in the morning, your blood pressure will spike, and you can expect a crash in the hour(s) to follow. If you were to eat fruit in the morning, make sure its in the meal itself, or following.
