10 in 10- day 4

Good Morning!

Oats in.. water drinking.. working hard. Feeling positive about the day- weighed in at the doctor yesterday ready to ROLL!!

lunch will be- the rest of brown rice, squash, corn, green combo I had yesterday with a little shoyu- decent- but not delectable. Dinner- well, we will hit the re-do button from  yesterday. Do you remember when I told you I was going to make those black-eyed pea croquettes from the book with sauteed spinach over sweet potatoes? Well... after an hour at the doctor with my two kids I came home and didn't have the energy or patience- so we went out to Moe's (burrito joint).. damn those tortilla chips. I did have rice, black bean, veggies, tofu and guac without the shell... but those chips are HARD to resist. I don't think I did any permanent damage- but it was not as clean as it should have been.

Today I need to exercise. I have my little dude (2) so I will need to bundle him up & get him in the stroller- but when it is raining. UGH (excuse).  Need to get in at least 30-40 minutes (4 miles) in to feel good. I got a flu shot yesterday and have been fighting a sinus infection for weeks- but now seem to be on the 'right' drugs so hoping to be feeling like myself again.

I love reading about everyone...I think I have officially decided that I need a vacation in San Francisco for our next 'get away'... maybe with planning I can take a class from Colleen Patrick Goudreau- does everyone know of her? If not- google her- I swear by her podcasts 'Vegetarian food for thought'... she has SO much information which she delivers in very enjoyable podcast form- download them to your ipod and you will be armed with inspiration and information.

We can do this- guys! I am super psyched... one month is not a long time to really focus and work hard. Get your game on- and attack the day with a plan you can achieve. Exercise or Move today for 30 minutes even if you have to divide it up and DRINK H2O.

Hello everyone!

Today in MD is off to a rainy start, but then again all of last week was too :( I'm hoping for some sunshine this weekend.  I miss taking walks!  Today is day 3 of my using the p90x program.  MInd you, I cannot make it through the entire dvd with a 2 1/2 year old and an 8 month old, but try to get in 20-30 minutes a day.

Down .2 lbs this morning!  Not huge, but down, never the less!

today's meal plan:

breakfast- must admit, i was a bad girl and didn't eat breakfast :(

snack- arbonne chocolate chew (to get me through to lunch)

lunch- left over rice (jasmine rice with trader joe's curry sauce- it's vegan!)

dinner- left over veggie wrap (1 yellow onion, 1 yellow squash, 1 cup of mushrooms sauteed in 1tbsp EVOO with salt and pepper to taste, wrapped in a tortilla shell)

snack- 2 oreo's

I'm planning a trip to San Jose next summer to see my best friend from college.  I've only been to CA once before and fell in love!

Does anyone watch "The Biggest Loser" for motivation?  I've had to DVR/on-demand it because of my GLEE obsession!

Hi guys. I haven't checked in a few days because my computer at home has been slow and work has been busy but I'm still here and I'm down one pound! Yea! I haven’t made anything homemade yet and that was my goal so I’m hoping to make something from TKD book this week. Today I had:

Breakfast - Banana, Strawberry, Rice Milk shake with a spash of vanilla. Yummmm

Snack - Peanut Butter and Apple

Lunch - Organic Corn Bisque Soup (from Imagine) and whole wheat crackers.

Not sure what the rest of the day holds because I’m not prepared, (which I know is not good) but I have all intentions of holding strong.   I also need to get some greens in there somewhere.  lol.

Has anyone ever done Weight Watchers in the past? I followed it a few years back and it really helped me drop the weight fast so I’ve been trying to keep the point system in mind when I choose to snack. I haven’t actually calculated my points since being vegan. I’d be curious to figure that out.....

I am checking in mid-day in hopes of NOT snacking. I ate my oatmeal, I ran for 30 minutes, ate brown rice, squash, shoyu. And snacked on an apple here at 3pm. This is the hard time for me these two hours. My son (thankfully) took a nap today- so I find myself kind of 'stuck' in the house with the fridge screaming to me. So.... I am off to grab a bottle of water and will work to stay out of snacking mode.

give me strength.

If we stop snacking, cut out the crap and exercise we have to lose- right?

Hi All,

Denise, I am a lifetime member of WW.  However, currently above my goal weight by about 18 pounds.  I lost 58 with them after my second child, so at least I am still down 40.  You can definately use points on a vegan plan.  I was thinking of starting that again myself, as it always works for me, and quickly.  The problem is once I stop tracking everything, I inevitably gain.  I was hoping veganism would be my solution to that problem, but sadly, there are too many yummy vegan foods out there.  So, I'm thinking I need to journal again until I get back to goal.

CrazyInLove, I also love the Biggest Loser and Glee.  I record it too, and watch on Wednesdays.  Jilian is my hero.  I have two of her dvd's, and (when I do them) they kick my butt.

OK, so confession time, I've had a bad day.  Started with a healthy green smoothie for breakfast.  Then started snacking late morning, and frankly haven't stopped.  Reading this now has helped me to get a handle on it.  So, for the rest of the day it will be some green tea, and maybe some steamed veggies later if I'm hungry.

Thanks ladies for your enthusiasm.  I really REALLY want to see those first 10 pounds gone this month.

Check in tomorrow.  Take care.  Kim.

Hey Everyone!

I'm MeKole, and clearly a late starter. : ./ I wished I has seen this sooner!. Nevertheless, I'm a new mom and i'm trying to shred this stubborn baby weight. I wish I haven't waited until recently to do something about it. My daughter is soon going to be 11 months, and I have this anxiety like I have to drop everything before she turns 1! lol not likely to happen. Well not a healthy way. I have been vegan for two weeks before and loved it. My friend introduced me to it and fell off because of my fiancé. He loves late night snacks and fast food on top of that. hehehe. Anywho, I was so trilled this was started, I think it’s just the push and support I need to be Vegan a lot longer than anyone’s two weeks. hehehe. I feel so good when I’m eating healthy.

Yesterday I weighed in at 154 so we will see where this month takes us. I plan to eat organic whenever possible and exercise like crazy..lol I've been loving Jillian Michaels oppose to going to the gym.

Well good luck to everyone on this exciting journey! :D

oh! Today:

Breakfast- Apple, Cherry Tomatos and a Garnola bar

Lunch- Veggie Sandwich

Snack - Green Tea... helps me get through the day

Dinner - Griled Veggies - Leeks, Shitake mushrooms, White mushrooms, and Zuchini..no salt seasoned with dash :D

RH Hames - I would snack on raw fruit and veggies and drink tons of cold water! It helps me feel full bc the fiber in them and when its meal time you'll eat half of you're usually portion size. Hope that helps

Hey Everyone!

breakfast: miso soup w/ bok choy and a granola bar (as I ran out for class)

lunch: baked kombucha squash and brocollini

Dinner: I'm not sure yet...?

i had a slump after class and was this close to just going home and calling it a day, but then my body urged me to go exercise , and I am sooo glad that I listened to it. I warmed up on the elliptical, did some ab work, and then went to the most amazing yoga class EVER! My mind was so cluttered, and afterwards I just felt free. It also, i might add, is one of the hardest yoga classes I have been too, and I used to do Bikrahm Yoga. haha. But now I feel brand new. YAY!

Hey guys, Arlyn here.

Breakfast: kale, apple, parsley, & broccoli

Lunch: vegan enchiladas (homemade with veggies, quinoa & vegan cheese)

Snack: last of "tikka masala"

Dinner: probably another salad..

Boyfriend made PB & chocolate rice krispie treats that are calling my name & it's taking everything in my will power to say "NO!"

@kim- i was surprised when jillian started backing weight loss products (pills, cleanse) but thought better than to try those.  i do have her wii game which is ok.

@Mekole- my son is 8 months old (this is my second child).  it's so much harder to lose the weight this time, so these posts have given me motivation!

@arlyn, you can do it! don't give into temptation!

Crazy in love- these post are a lot of help. I also think that Jillian Michaels is backing diet pills because she has her own. lol However, by the reviews they aren't doing very well!

Actually, I have tried J.Michael's weight loss pills~ the ones that curb your hunger. (Come in blue bottle, roughly $18 a bottle).  Have to admit- they actually work.  I am going to buy another bottle because they didn't make me feel jittery, just full and am less apt to overeat.. just like her promise! Probably not the healthiest, but since I'm working out again, my appetite is in full gear.

And so far- no PB treats for me! Woohoo! Lol..

Hi Guys this is my first check in since starting. Have lost close to a kilo (sorry im an aussie don't know pounds:) ) but had a major blow out yesterday don't even want to say what i ate (lets just say it comes from a place that i haven't been too in almost 6 months and starts with M :(  ) and i don't even know why i went but i had the worst day yesterday and felt like giving up on everything and somehow i ended up there. Went home and wrote down how i was feeling and what i could of done instead. Today has started much better and in a much better headspace.

Breakfast - wholegrain meusli with banana and yoghurt glass of water with lemon

Snack - Sesame bar & Green tea

Lunch - Fruit Salad (really feel like a big bowl of it!!) crackers and hummus

Dinner - 'chicken' stirfry with asian vegies

thats the plan anyway only up to breakfast hehe.!!!!!

Keep going everyone! xx

Hello everyone

Breakfast- Wheat cereal with almond milk; serving of peanuts;sugar free vanilla soy latte

Lunch-red lentil dish with lentils, brown rice, onions, tomatoes

snack-wheat crackers with cranberry jelly

dinner-bean salad, dressing, carrots, vegan cheese with brown rice made with vegan milk made with limes

snack-one oreo and a handful of frito's with bean dip

and I havent worked out since sunday which is not good, but I have very low energy and just dont feel like exercising right now. until tomorrow...........

Hi all!

I am on board starting now. (sorry, I saw this all a bit late)

I am on a serious plateau and I know my pitfalls:

weekends - big portions - sugar (chocolate especially) - and letting myself get too ravenous at night

I saw in some earlier posts what people were "pledging" to do to keep their goals. I pledge to eat healthy snacks throughout the day so that I won't be stupid-starving when I get home and ruin my day of healthy eating with a giant dinner. There's more I need to do as well but I'll save it for tomorrow as it's late and I have to get to bed!

xoxo Wanz
