I've been experiencing some GI symtoms and am now wondering if I have an intolerance to soy - I've been using soy milk for smoothies, cereal and cooking soups, etc.
Has anyone else had this problem? How did it manifest in you?

I was recently diagnosed with sensitivity to soy/wheat/corn - so I can't tell you which of my symptoms came from which BUT....the main physical symptoms I was having were intestinal issues (frequent and loose.....sounds like an X rated movie!) and fatigue - if it's just the soy it should be easy for you to figure out, just remove it completely (and its in EVERYTHING) from your diet for a few days, then try it for a day -
I realized my intolerance to soy when I consistently had loose stools the day after consuming something with soy. I still eat it occasionally because I love a good soy green tea latte or sesame baked tofu, but cutting it mostly out has definitely eased some discomfort! Now I just stick to beans or lentils or nuts for my protein.
Thanks so much. This is all making sense now. What about miso, does that count?
yes I can relate! I usually feel lethargic and crappy after having too much soy, not to mention digestive discomfort! so I have eliminated it, especially the processed fake meat products made with soy like gardenburger, they seem to be the worst offenders. I still do drink a little bit of soy milk but I limit it and have been enjoying more rice and coconut milk lately.

deborah, fermented soy foods seem to be healthier and better tolerated by a lot of people so miso and tempeh might be ok for you -
Thanks Ann, I plan on giving that a try. Things seem to have settled down. I'm hoping it's just the processed soy milk that was the culprit.
