Blackheads

I don't have acne, but haven't been able to get rid of these blackheads no matter what. Has any vegans or superheroes saw a change in theirs?

I'm a flirt.

Gentle exfoliation between 1 and 3 times a week has cleared this up for me. I'm not sure if I've seen a change in blackheads specifically since I became a vegan, although the only time I break out is if I go crazy with new skin products or makeup.

Exfoliation has done nothing for me over the years. Nothing works.

Any vegans found that it works for them?

Those pore strips work very well. Or you can try this easy recipe:

I"m telling you, nothing has worked for me. Not even pore strips!

I really would like to know if veganism helps some!

BTW Eric, that video she posted, she uses gelatin in it.

Home remedies may work for you as they work most of the times for me.For the treatment of blackheads apply a poultice made of grated potatoes on the skin. This remedy is also useful home remedy for blackheads.

Make a paste by mixing 3 tablespoons of honey and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder in a bowl. Apply this paste on the blackheads before sleeping and wash it next morning with warm water. Repeating this for two weeks will remove blackheads and is also useful blackheads treatment.

Applying a combination of one teaspoon of coriander juice and half a teaspoon of turmeric powder is one of the most successful natural home remedies for Blackheads and Pimples on face.(for more infomation you may visit http://www.medexpressrx.com/blog)

hey Esperanza!

I had large pores/blackheads on my nose for years and i was sooooo upset by it.  The simplest thing has COMPLETELY cleared them up.  I take a bit of baking soda, add a tiny amount of water and gently exfoliate my nose with it for about 10 seconds.  Then I leave the paste on my nose for about 3-5 min and wash it off.  Now this is a natural remedy however, some argue that baking soda can mess with the ph level of your skin so to combat this, natural remedy sites say to mix some distilled apple cider vinegar with water and use it as a toner on your nose after using the baking soda paste.  this has honestly worked for me and i suggest giving it a try.  Plus its sooooooo cheap!  Good luck!

After about a month of going vegan I saw a change in my skin - blackheads were becoming smaller and starting to clear up.  I've had a few slips recently, so my skin isn't as clear anymore.  Other than going vegan, the only thing that worked for my blackheads was Dr. Hauschka's skin care line.  I used the cleanser, toner and rose cream; all for sensitive skin.  I would still be using it, but its not sold where I live anymore.

Tali... thanks a bunch!! can't wait to try it! Awesome :)

Neve, thats exciting, I hope it happens for me too!

I have been a vegan for about six weeks and two weeks ago I started to break out very bad.  cystic type acne.  giant pimples that last 7-10 days that will not be popped.  is this secondary to some sort of tixin flush?  I have no idea what to do.  Please help.

Yes, going vegan was the only thing that made me stop having blackheads/breakouts in general.

Sarah, it sounds like detox to me.  You might try Vegecol cleanser and toner from Aubrey organics, it is very gentle and might soothe your skin during this time.  They also have a nice light moisturizer which will keep the toner from irritating your breakouts too much.

Hi Sarah,

The exact same thing happened to me when i went vegan 6 months ago.  It was so frustrating! I went superhero after 2 months of being vegan and it helped my skin a lot.  I am still detoxing thru my skin but it is much much better.  The more whole grains and veggies I eat, the better my skin looks.  I wash my face with dessert essence thoroughly clean face wash.  be careful with it tho cos it is very drying.  I use it on my forhead nose and chin and it really helps.  For a bad pimple I'll apply burts bees acne serum.  I don't like too cos it seems a bit harsh on the skin but sometimes I really need it.  Hang in there, it will get better.  oh also, burdock root really has helped my skin.  It is very detoxifying for the liver and i have noticed that when I consistantly add it into my diet I notice an improvement with my skin.  Hope this helps...Goodluck!!!

I am breaking out a lot still under my chin. It's been this way since going veg, then vegan 3mo ago

Yoiu can use blackheads remover available in the market

but excess use of such cream affects face badly so try to

only once in a week.
