Cetaphil

So after 10 years of having a persistent rash that wouldn't go away and trying everything out there to fix it myself I went to the dermatologist. He told me I was so sensitive that water and my own sweat cause severe allergic reactions and to use Cetaphil. I hate using a product that isn't vegan but every vegan product I have tried has caused my face to crack and bleed causing infection. He told me that in my case natural is causing more harm than good. When is it ok to put your health above your vegan beliefs?

That's a personal decision.  There are people that beleive that as long as you're doing everything else to your beliefs, you should also take care of yourself.

There are some in here that have health disorders that cause them to have to take a pill that contains pig hormones.  (I believe thyroid issues, but don't quote me on that.)  If they have all other parts of their lives vegan but that one part, I do not feel that it makes them any less vegan.

Of course, I don't think it's anyone's right to judge who's more vegan than the next.

Your health and well being is #1.  I am not sure exactly what is happening with your skin but from what you wrote it sounds a little like what I had to deal with.  I use a product called Camomile Zinc Cream made by St. Francis Herb Farm.  It is not vegan as there is some bee's wax in it.  However, it is amazing and all natural.  I put it on day and night and my skin is great now.

Thank you Dolores K and Susan. The vegans I know have been nothing but badmouthing my decisions and it is nice to type to people who don't judge based on health issues. I think I just have to bite the bullet and listen to the doctors now because the natural stuff is making matters worse.
