I've been waiting patiently for this to come to my city!
I've been waiting patiently for this to come to my city!
Being a huge fan of Ellen Page and Rainn Wilson, I really wanted to see "Super", but shockingly even though I live in Northern New Jersey about a one hour drive from New York City, we mostly just get the awful supposed Blockbuster movies that every one gets. BAH!
Alicia if you haven't seen "Super" I would recommend it just from the trailer and clips I've seen. Plus I trust Ellen Page's and Rainn Wilson's taste in scripts. Juno was a great film.
BTW Win/Win looks like a great film. Yet another small well made film that didn't come to my area!
Sadly, I haven't watched any fun movies lately. I've been looking forward to watching this! I like Paul Giamatti.

Yay, Win Win is playing in a theater near me! I'm def going to see it!
I just saw Water For Elephants a couple of days ago. It was a wonderful film that made me laugh at times, and it had a beautiful love story... but it does show horrific animal abuse that made me cringe. Hopefully it'll help shed some light on the cruelty that goes on at circuses and how loving and intelligent animals can be, particularly ones that are seen as being "dumb" like elephants. Overall, I loved the film!
This looks fantastic! I love all the actors in this film and can't wait until it comes to my city.
I am going to Water For Elephants tonight with my book club. I loved the book and am really excited to see the movie!
Gretchen
This looks excellent. I loved the Station Agent . . . I love wine . . . So Paul is a shoe in for my ticket money! Great positive trailer. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the suggestion! It looks great but being in Great Falls, MT I might as well be in a different decade haha. I have been having SUCH a hard time finding good movies lately! I'm on a hunt for "Food, Inc" =)

Looks really good, hope it's playing in my small town theater :)
VeggieGrettie, are you familiar with the plight of wild animals trained to do circus tricks in entertainment? If not, I would encourage you to look up elephants being trained by 'bullhooks' and the idle, sad lives of captive animals before seeing 'Water for Elephants'. I understand that the book's narrative is around a cruel circus trainer, and how mean he is, but the actual elepahnt in the movie probably suffers to tell this story.
Hi MIchelle Gonzalez and VeggieGrettie,
Michelle, while it's good that ' Water For Elephants' shows the cruelty associated with animal circuses, and will open people's eyes to that, don't foget that the elephant used in this movie had to endure the horrific torture that is necessary to make wild animals do tricks (like handstands, headstands, etc). As kindlifers, I don't think we should support movies like this that exploit individual animals (even if it is to document exploitation). I urge everyone to please google 'bullhooks' (that breaks an elephant's spirit in physically and mentally horrific ways) and watch the 'Entertainment' section in the film 'Earthlings' if you have not already.
The movie" Win Win" looks really cute, almost like Juno; real, with great dialog. Dialog can make or break a movie. I have no desire to see "Water for Elephants" , unless it was to wear my elephant cruelty shirt I got from PETA and protest.
Clueless! Stil a fav. Amy Heckerling is a genius! AND the lead actress wasn't so bad either;)
Win Win is a fantastic movie! So funny and the characters are so real and true. It's not funny, but everyone should rent the writer/directors previous film the Visitor. Human rights are important too.
I really want to see win win, it looks like a fun-filled film :) I wouldn't go see Water for Elephants if you paid my rent for a year. I am shocked that Reese Witherspoon took the role. She is now on my black list.
