Ok so I have just finished reading The China Study. This is one of the best books I have EVER read. I have known for a long time the negative health impact of consuming a high (or low) animal protein diet, but it is nice to be able to back your beliefs up with scientific evidence. Plus I wasn't sure on all the specifics. This book was able to give great research evidence while doing so in a simple manner. I HIGHLY recommend this book. Even if you are already nutrition savvy there is much to be learned. Although my husband hasn't read it (yet), he has agreed to go Vegan for a one month challenge. Although he doesn't eat a lot of meat, he is one of those people who believes the health benefits that come from dairy. So this is a big step for him. Now I just need to get him to read the book, so he can see for himself why dairy is so bad.
I can't wait to read this book! I just have to wait until I have enough spare money to buy it, after spending stacks of dollars on all this yummy new TKD food :-) Not that I mind, of course!
Absolutely, this book definately opened my mind some more. I know we only get the information that special interest groups want us to hear. So here's the rest of the information we needed to make informed decisions regarding our health.
I agree, one of the BEST books I've ever read. I'm all about the books that give you the emotional boost to back our lifestyle choices, but the facts in his research are remarkable.
It's fantastic that there are authors out there who expose the truth, regardless of what their purpose was (the author's original direction wasn't veganism at all... but along the way he discovered too much to ignore it; and thank goodness, he published it).
