Crazy Health Success

Prior to starting Alicia's diet, I've been dealing with a myriad of health related issues including:

- Overweight BMI

- Frequent urination (~15 times a day)

- Blood sugar drops, cravings, binge eating

- Depression

- Lack of energy

- Severe bacne

Last week, I checked my BMI. 23.1. Somehow, my past two months of being Superhero (ok, besides crazy PMS eating) have shoved me out of my overweight comfort zone. Being at a normal weight is almost...liberating.

Monday, I was shocked to find that I only had to run to the restroom 5 times during the day. When I deliberated this news, I realized that I'd been gradually decreasing the need to go ever since starting the diet. Once again, it felt good to be normal, and best of all, it has stayed this way.

With the exception of a rather torturous PMS, my daily afternoon snack-a-rama has been completely eliminated from my life. Whole grains and veggies keep me mellow, and I don't experience the highs and lows I did when eating refined flours, sugars, and fruits. I don't crave sugar anymore. I am free to think about things other than food, and all the free thoughts are truly a blessing. My life isn't fixated or obsessed on my next binge.

Energy! Yes! I have been running around with a kid-like demeanor for the past few weeks, doing activities I thought I had "outgrown". No longer will I sit on the sidelines during an epic water fight, or opt out of a long walk with a friend. My energy is inspiring me to do things I'd thought I'd aged out of.

I cannot wait to see what the next months will bring me. I am truly blessed to have a wonderful role model such as Alicia to show me the way, and highly recommend this lifestyle to any and all who want change in their life. Superhero for life!

Great news! Benefits will continue. Wouldn't it be nice to see the end of the your PMS? If you can keep up the superhero, it just might help it all go away like the rest.

That is so cool, Kate!  I too have experienced so many positive changes, I almost don't believe them myself!  I've only been vegan for 10 weeks and already I've seen a profound effect on my previous hormonal issues.  These things have all disappeared: PMS, night sweats, troubles getting back to sleep after waking at 3 a.m. EVERY day, painful ovulation, cramps, etc.!  Not only that, but layers of fat are disappearing without my even trying.  It's pretty incredible!

I, too, have noticed I don't have cravings for sugar anymore.  Or anything else, for that matter!  As you say, it's liberating!

Continued success!

Kate -- So happy for you! Stick with it. Sometimes it takes a little while for the hormones to balance.

thats so great everyone!  something to explore if you haven't already - probiotics.  the years of eating not so great can wreak havoc on our intestinal flora and fauna, so to speak, and this can impact hormonal issues.  it's amazing how its ALL connected!  changing the diet is great, but sometimes a little extra somethin' somethin' is needed to re-establish that which has been lost and food alone won't do it.  I have found introducing probiotics into the mix to really balance out a lot of hormonal issues like pms.

Thank you all for your kind words, and everyone new who reads this- stick with it :)

Good for you!  That is fantastic news :)

shoot! Kate I accidentally falgged this as inappropriate instead of "cool"! damn Congrats though, that's great news!!
