Dating & Restaurants

Ok, I'm just going to dive right in with my second post here. :)

What do you all do if you are out at a restaurant either on a date, or with a group of people where no one else comes remotely close to either being vegan or macro?  With my friends I can obviously say "I'm not eating meat or dairy, etc" and we can work around it but what do you do when it's a guy who wants to take you out?  It's hard enough with the people in my office asking why I don't eat the chinese buffet or mexican fiesta when we have lunch meetings, never mind when I am going to be out with clients!  I don't want to be perceived as a "fussy eater" because I'm not, it's just obviously hard to eat out when everything is covered in dairy.

Any suggestions?   Thank you! :)

It's usually pretty easy to find veggies, a salad or a grain. May not be the most delectable though. I try to eat something before I go out, just in case. Then just have a salad or veggie plate when I'm out. The best veggie platter I've had, so far, was out with friends at a pizza place, go figure. I am a real pain in the a** because I have a food allergy, I let the server know that in advance and they are usually pretty cool about it. I don't have any close friends that are vegan either, but I don't come down on any one for eating animal products, it's just my way of life.
Happy eating!
Peace,

ps I love your name!
I wouldn't sweat the date part of that.  If the guy's into you, the last thing he's going to be concerned with is your diet.  And if he perceives you as being fussy because of your diet, it probably won't work out anyway.  Just my two cents.

Just tell the guy, if someone's cooking for me or if we're going out to eat I let them know and we plan around it. Like with your friends, if this person wants to spend time with you and get to know you this shouldn't be the biggest deal. I used to worry about it, but now I feel disappointed if a guy I meet isn't vegan. He should be the one to worry about what to do.

I agree with above posters. I am more nervous about client dinners. I am meeting a client in California soon and hope it will be easy to just pick a veggie meal from the menu without a big fuss.
I was a little consouis at first too! I normally check the menu online and find something so that when i get there I already know what I want!
