Diabetes and feeling just blah

I'm a type 2 diabetic and the last couple of days have been horrible for me. I was super excited last week because I finally got my period on my own after 18 years of not getting it without the help of pills. I then got a rash that I thought was a yeast infection on my right arm pit. Now i have read that as a diabetic I'm prone to rashes and the rash I have isn't a yeast infection. My blood sugar numbers have been really good. I have also been having horrible mood swings. I don't know what to do or how to handle all of these things happening at once. Hopefully it will get better soon. I do hate that being diabetic also causes all of these other issues. Being prone to rashes and getting sick easier just sucks.

I know that by changing my eating habits I have made things better for myself, I just hate that it feels like everything is happening at once and not the good things.

Thanks,
Kelly
how long have u been vegan for? i have heard good stuff on here about people reversing type 2 with vegan diets, as i have also heard through work neal barnard has done-head of pcrm-
im sure it will get better soon, hang in  there.  feel good that your helping the environment, animals, and your health. your blood sugar should stabilise if not soon, itll just be a matter of time, and with that will come an awesome mood, and awesome health.
one thing im really likingright now (and must give a shoutout to) is seaweed----in sushi, in miso soup and alicias arame /carrot dish. i make it with wakame, as cannot find arame where i live, and with brown rice or quinoa and it is fsbulous. seaweed js so good for you, practically gives you magical powers.
stay cheerful and happy. u can do it!!

is it possible that if you just got your period for the first time in 18 years last week without medication that your horrible mood swings are related to hormonal changes?  just a thought - if your body has just ovulated on its own for the first time in almost two decades, I would expect some hormonal hell!  and if you have never gotten a rash before, and just did for the first time.....wait until you keep getting them to attatch them to being diabetic and it being something you will always get.  As Freud said, sometimes a rash is just a rash....give your body some time to get into balance - if your blood sugar numbers have been great I would not worry and think your symptoms are more about your body rebalancing/detoxing - it's so great you are taking control of your health through your diet - keep up the amazing work and hang in there!

thanks for your responces. I had a long chat with my hubby and yes we think its due to my hormones changing.

I have been eating vegan since the end of January. and my blood sugars have never been better. The mood swings have let up, thankfully! My husband and I have started to walk more in the evening and that seems to be helping. I know I just have to wait this out, its just frustrating that it all happened at the same time. I know it will get better :)

Thank you for your supportive words and advice. *hugs*

Have you read Dr Barnard's book Program for Reversing Diabetes? I just bought it for my Mum as she's been told to change her diet as she has high blood sugar levels. She's not vegan but I'm hoping she'll read the book and take a lot of the advice and diet-suggestions on board.
