Flirting in Dayton, Ohio

I’ve always been fascinated with vegans. The concept and their dedication is great. That being said, I’ve been wanting to read The Kind Diet for some time but having 10 month old twin infants kinda takes up most of my free time. I was dipping my toes in the vegetarian water when I got pregnant and was completely grossed out by vegetables and couldn’t get enough meat. Now, I feel like veganism just keeps coming up around me.

My husband seems to be a little freaked by my even reading the book but I still plan to keep on flirting. My biggest motivator is health. And a lot of my curiosity revolves around what is best for my babies. I’m currently BFing full-time but plan to stop pumping at 1 year. So I don’t have much time to decide what I’m going to give them.

I convinced my husband that we should get a weekly organic CSA delivery. Because of that, we’ve definitely tried things we never would have (I even had trouble finding out what some of it was). But when it comes down to it, we don’t have a lot of time for experimenting now since we both work full-time.

Welcome summer!!!! Wow! Working full time and twins!!! You go girl..keep breastfeeding!! I've been a veg for years..my husband is not. I cook so he eats what I cook..but I do buy meat for his lunches..since hes a good sport about putting up with my vegan food!!! Best of luck!

Welcome, Summer!   I'm originally from Hamilton, OH (just a few miles south of dayton) but now live in Dallas, TX.  I've always kinda flirted my whole life, but am taking it more seriously now that I have more information.

Hope you enjoy it, and don't be afraid to ask questions!  A lot of us on here are either new or were once new to this new lifestyle!

I figured since you responded to my introduction, I'd respond to yours!  Flirting would seem to be the best way for someone so busy!  Hopefully it will make the transition smoother.

Hi, Summer. Congratulations on twins!

I'm flirting right along with you. Giving up meat was not a challenge at all, but giving up cheese...especially when a big hunk of Wisconsin Cheddar is just sitting right there in the front of Dorothy Lane Market...let's just say I make a very bad vegan. Very bad. I'm trying.

Good luck and welcome!
