Awesome post Alicia! I didn't know about down pillows and covers until about a year ago and I was horrified! I wasn't as educated about this stuff when I had Noah, but my the time I had Henry, I got him an amazing organic mattress, and an all natural wood crib, and an organic hemp rug. I also have a fern in his room to clean the air. The second ones always seem to have things a little better!
