holiday hors d’oeuvres

I have found that soy gives me acne breakouts.  Any appetizer suggestions that dont involve a bunch of soy??

I bet you could use seitan instead of the tofu in the recipe above:)

You could make hummus and serve it with veggies and pita bread for a soy free appy.

A really easy and yummy dip I have made in the past is taking 1 avocado, 1 cup of salsa, and 1 cup of cooked black beans and blending them all together in a food processor, or you could do it by hand for a chunkier dip. It is so good! :)

I make a spinach and artichoke dip using the Tofutti Better than Cream Cheese and Sour Supreme, so that's a good one. Stuffed mushroom caps are good too... mmmm... yum:)

I'm loving fried tofu these days, and the orange dipping sauce sounds so fresh and light! Theresa- If you're looking for appetizers without soy, I made some non-soy based holiday spreads for a holiday party, including a "chopped liver" and a "pate"- all using fresh, unprocessed ingredients. They were a huge hit!

Alicia's Artichoke, Mushroom and Leek Crostini with Pesto makes a tasty appetiser:

I made the tofu app last Christmas Eve. :) Maybe I'll do it again.

I once substituted seitan...and didn't like it as much.

My partner made the tofu for my b-day last summer. The main course was the suffed

shells. YUM!

The artichoke, mushroom and leek crostini's ARE a must - so deicious and great to contribute to non-veg friendly gatherings.  I made them for Thanksgiving and am doing it again for Christmas :)
