hot apple cider

How funny...spiced cider has been on my mind...I planned to make it this weekend and then blog about it on my website.  It is such a great holiday drink!

I was just sent samples of So Delicious's Seasonal Coconut Milk Beverages (Nog, and Mint Chocolate) to preview (they are amazing!).  I am hosting a So Delicious GIVEAWAY on my site right now.

I love the Vanilla Nut Teeccino at Night. It feels rich cozy in the winter nights :D

Here in Mexico we do something called Ponche that is a beverage made out of all the seasonal fruits like guava, sugar cane, apple (since we're a tropical country apples are seasonal here in fall), a fruit called tejocote, prunes, raisins, and everything with a hibiscus and tamarind base.  Basically you put everything in a big pot with water an some maple syrup (traditionally sugar) and cinnamon and let it boil until every fruit has let the flavor out. It's great!smiley-laughing.gif

Wow, this sounds amazing and super easy. I think this will have to happen this weekend. Only way it could be better would be to slip a shot of whiskey in there! ;)

It is getting a bit chilly! Hot Apple Cider sounds amazing in this weather. Thanks for the recipe!

I love hot apple cider! I definately will be encouraged to make this:)

i grew up in a home with an apple tree, so we made tons of homemade apple cider, juice, pies, sauce, etc.  one thing i used to love besides traditional cider was to heat up a cup of cider/tea in a pot and add a bag of a good spiced herbal or mixed tea .. such as mandarin orange spice or constant comment and let that steep in the hot juice as i would tea. i usually add a little sweetener but not much as, like you said, apple juice is very sweet on it's own.

If you're lazy (like me) Trader Joes has several ciders (apple cider, apple pear cider and cranberry cider) in the juice section that you simply have to heat up.  They apple pear cider is pretty good.  Unfortunately, I don't think any of them are organic though :(

I made this really recently!!! It was awesome but we had way to much soo I saved the rest in a jar in the fridge and used it in pumpkin loaf instead of water - it was yummy.

I found organic apple cider in the UK : ) and it was pretty cheap.

I just made a simliar recipe in the crockpot for a recent mom's night in, and it stayed warm all night and was accesible for guests using a ladel. I also used coffee filters instead of cheesecloth and tied up the ends with string.

Yummmm.  Just enjoyed a glass of warm apple cider with cinnamon sprinkled on top.  While I hate that the weather's getting cooler, there are definitely some things that I love about fall! <3

Sounds delicious. Does anyone live in Chicago? Iam new to the city and am looking for vegan restaurants.

Thank You!
