I wish I didn't have access to them because I actually bought one today, from Rice Dream. I haven't opened it yet though cause I'm afraid I'll eat the whole thing lol. Isn't it vegan if it's over a certain percentage cocoa?

Look for non-dairy chcoolate chips! They have saved my life. Plus, they are pretty cheap. My fave is from trader Joe's but I'm guessing you won't have one near (even mine is an hour away) but I also found some in my grocery store. Also.. most dark chocolate is dairy free so start checking labels

oh, also.. order off the internet if you have to!

The percentage of cocoa doesnt mean its vegan, although you want to aim for around 70% + if you want the health benefits such as heart disease protective properties etc.

The internet is a good place to order from as Shelly says.

Personally my favorite is the conscious chocolate range, better than any non-vegan chocolate i have ever had melts in your mouth. Also macasure chocolate bar by Vega is great.

Yes, the internet is your friend!  Order some to have on hand.

I think vegan chocolate bars are better anyway.  Just thinking about the chalky, waxy taste regular chocolate used to leave in my mouth makes me gag.

Amazon usually has some pretty good deals, and usually you can view the ingredients list.

she said she misses chocolate, not fake chocolate. nothing can replace that deliciousness, sigh.....

Vegan chocolate isn't fake chocolate! Dark chocolate without dairy is hardly fake, it's just not milk chocolate or the waxy stuff with all sorts of other additives.

Good source for chocolate is Veganessentials.com, just be sure to have it shipped in a cold pack this time of year.  Also Ghiradelli has some vegan chocolate which is a bit easier to find.

Some ghiradelli I believe is vegan, just need to read the ingredients to see.  I also saw this website called chocolate.com and you can search for vegan chocolates.  Yum!

oh geez, just realized french_momma said the same thing about ghiradelli!

Tell her to try some conscious chocolate mint or orange and tell me if its fake chocolate. Absolutely delicious.

Its a shame that people think real chocolate is heavily processed dairy milk chocolate bars.

Check out rescuechocolate.com.  They make a variety of vegan chocolate (including chocolate cream filled easter eggs), and the net proceeds 100% benefit animal rescue.  Win, win.

What is real chocolate?  In it's purest edible form, REAL chocolate is dark chocolate with nothing added to it.  The further away you get from that, the closer you get to what I would consider to be fake chocolate.  Good dark chocolate should have an ingredient list about six or seven words long (dark chocolate, natural sweetener, natural flavor like ginger or something) or less.

This chocolate truly is divine....

I tried some at the Green Fest in SF a few weeks ago. Holy OMG!
