Done. I'm not Vegan yet but I'm really working toward it and seeing things like this make me want to even more. Thank you as well for posting those links because it helps me to see different ways to not eat meat at all. Have a wonderful day!

Posted the petition to my facebook and twitter. I will never be able to get my head around this sort of animal treatment. It is horrifying to me that there are people who feel comfortable inflicting this sort of pain on another living creature.
As a vegan myself, I agree that animal cruelty is a big problem. I must ask though, why are you only "Hatin" on McDonalds? If you have any knowledge of factory farms, you must know that McDonalds is not the only place these eggs go to. If you are going to slam McDonalds, you have to slam every other fast food restuarant, grocery stores, mom and pop diners and even public schools. McDonalds does a lot of good for communities and the Ronald McDonald House for families of sick children. Please take into consideration that McDonalds is not directly responsible for animal abuse at these locations. I'm all for changing the actions of the factory farms and educating people of the problems, but not at the expense of singling out McDonalds.
Why is it that Europe always seems so ahead of us? They don't use the aritificial dyes that are allowed into out food, their McDonalds already has a 100% cage-free purchasing policy and our doesn't, there are medical advances that are available there and not here...when are we going to get wise and follow their example?

WELL STATED, AMBER L.
EGGS <period> ARE A PROBLEM, AS IS ALL DAIRY & MEAT CONSUMPTION. B-U-T, THAT SAID, IT AIN'T GONNA CHANGE BEFORE I'M TAKING A DIRT NAP! I CAN'T SAY IT WILL NEVER CHANGE--JUST NOT IN THE NEXT FEW CENTURIES, UNLESS, "MEAT" [i.e. animals] SOMEHOW BECOMES EXTINCT. SIGH, THE SAD FIGHT CONTINUES. :-(
I've signed the petition last month and recommend people to view The Mercy for Animals website. They're a wonderful group that works hard to end animal suffering. I'm proud to be a member.
I'm hating it too. Sometimes I'm so happy about that something's changing. I met so many vegans since I live in a bigger town. In the small villages, it's a little bit harder to convince the people to live kind. But here, at Kiel;Germany, I met so many vegans. But in several moments I really turn sad because of all animals suffering. In regard to chicken treating, it is sometimes really unbelievable. I heard people say : 'Yes, I'm not eating cows so often, but chickens are stupid animals and so it isn't that bad to eat them'
It is unbelievable, but I just answer, what I think, and for luck, you all think the same what I think.
Becoming vegan was the best thing I've ever done.
I love every vegan in the world, and I'm proud of everyone, who's trying to live like that.
Annika
I absolutely agree with Amber - very well said! :)
Savagery is really the only word that comes to mind. Well, not the only word, but if a person lacks the self-control when it comes to treating animals with a little respect, how do they view other people? How do they treat other people? I am not a person against hunting or anything like that, but those that I know that do hunt NEVER torture animals. They make it as quick and painless as possible. They treat the animals with respect, not wasting, not hunting for mere sport. I am rather content to be meat-free!
In response to Amber L's post, I think singling out McDonald's is one very effective way to get this show moving forward. McDonald's is pretty much the leader in the fast food industry, and the examples set by the McDonald's Corporation are often mirrored by other fast food chains. This is NOT to say that McDonald's is the only company that purchases their products from companies/farms that use inhumane practices -- far from, actually. I wouldn't be the least surprised if I were to find out that most, if not all, other fast food companies source from similar suppliers (as, I'm sure, do even a great deal of not-so-fast food companies and restaurants). The important thing to remember is that the message needs to get across: we need to let these huge corporations know that we will NOT stand by and just accept the fact that their purchases support inhumane practices. If we collectively speak loudly and often enough, they will hear us and act -- whether we started by singling out McDonalds or not. Sometimes all it takes is for the leader to change.
I agree with Ms. Pea. Singling out McDonald's is an excellent way to get a change started. They have restaurants across the world. And if they're trying to build a reputation built on charity to children, they should strongly consider adding better treatment of animals. Think about it - if McDonald's were to change their practices, and people were to rally behind them and boycott other restaurants that did not support better practices, a change could be made. It's an idealistic longshot I know, but crazier things have happened.
It is just plain awful... but when this kind of report gets me down, I think about the dozen plus of my friends who are now flirting because veganism is becoming more and more 'accepted'. Many people have seen Forks over Knives and Food Inc. at my recommendation, and at least half of them are trying to be veg with the goal of vegan in the future. These thoughts make me very happy! Change is occurring, though perhaps more slowly than we wish.
I really needed to hear this. I have been vegan for 2 weeks now and I was getting a little frustrated. My whole family eats meat and while I have a few friends who are vegetarian - I don't know any vegans. I was thinking - maybe I could do mostly vegan and just have a little mayo on a vegan burger. But then I read this story and signed the petition and reminded myself that I am doing the right thing - not just for me but also for animals.
Amazing how a night of very little sleep (with three young kids) can alter your willpower!
Signed!
I just signed also! This whole situation, now, and all of the time, just breaks my heart. I feel so much pain for these, and all, animals. I will never be able to understand how, or why, this happens...how people can do these things. Even one incident, involving one animals, destroys me to think of their pain and suffering. And, knowing it happens all of the time to billions of animals (in the U.S. alone), for their entire lives, just drives me insane (that's the only word I can think of). I can only imagine how horrible it would be to live my entire life they way these animals are forced to "live". Can you imagine....just knowing how they are forced to live and how they are treated...imagine going through that yourself...it's unthinkable...it makes me sick to my stomach. I want so badly for this to stop. I know many positive strides are being made everyday by so many good people, but it still hurts bad to know that while we are all working on it and doing everything that we each can that animals are suffering and being tortured in the meantime. I know we are effecting positive change one step at a time. I know that, and I try to keep that light inside of me all of the time, but at the same time I know of the abuse that is taking place simultaneously and while even one animal suffers I feel desperate. You know, it matters, to every "one" animal.....for one being to suffer, even one, it matters to that one....this has to stop. Thank you to all of the good people who care and do things to help.
