janah's cooking workshop in los angeles!!

Thank you for sharing this -- it sounds amazing!!  I've been working on dates for a trip to LA -- the workshop would definitely make it a perfect time to go...

I wish I lived in LA! All the vegan restaurants and classes and teachers....Sigh. Someday. Until then I will live vicariously through all you Californians! :)

The Grove is just around the bend from me, and I love Sur La Table - this should be a lovely experience!!! Thanks for sharing, Alicia.

She needs to come to NY!!....I found out about this a few weeks ago through Rich Roll (Vegan Athlete).....

I live outside of Detroit.  That's exciting that you'll be in town!  I just read your book last week, so I'm new to this, but if you're looking for vegan restaurants - Ann Arbor is going to be your best bet, by far!

There are some classes in England, mostly for macrobiotics, but are held in London. As I live in the West country, it is still too far to travel for me. I have bought some other vegan recipe books though to give me some new ideas. It would be lovely to go to a class with like minded people.

Oh! Why is Montreal so far away??

i live in detroit! if you need a food friend while you're here, i know lots of good places!

sounds amazing!  wish i could be there.

does anyone know of anything similar in the ny area? (i'm in brooklyn:)). it would be fun to do as a girls night with a friend or something!

I"m also too far away! And I've been looking for something like this in my area but with no luck. Janah make your cooking class availble as a webcast and I'm signed up!  Does anyone know of an online vegan cooking class? I'm not a cook (but learning) and could use some pointers!

As Kristen said, there isn't much in the line of vegan here in Michigan, but Ann Arbor is your best bet. There is Earthen Jar & Seva in Ann Arbor, and those are pretty much the only 100% veg resaurants, but there are many others that are veg friendly. Hopefully after being stuck here you will see how rough it is to be a Michgan Vegan ;)

Hope you enjoy your stay. Ann Arbor has a nice collection of Organic/Earthy/Eco stores and activities, so I hope you get a chance to spend some time here.

The Inn Season Cafe in Royal Oak, MI is the greatest little 100% veg place around!  It's been there for 30 years...  Only 20 minutes north of Detroit up I-75...  try the budapest mushroom soup!

Hi Amanda!  Yes there are some wonderful links out there for Vegan Online resources.  Here is one I go to time and time again ~ she is remarkable. Check out www.vegancoach.com  I have NO affiliattion with this website ~ other than being an avid fan.  Also, Jessica Porter, who is more toward macrobiotics, offers cooking videos in her website/blog ~ Hip Chicks Guide to Macrobiotics. www.hipchicksmacrobiotics.com If you are interested in Vegan desserts?  I cannot say enough about the author of Vegan Cupcakes and Vegan Cookies.  I believe she offers videos on her site as well. Post Punk Kitchen ~ www.theppk.com  Hope this helps!

Wow, detroit. :) If you have time to travel 40 minutes north west to Ann Arbor, there is a fabulous veg restaurant (lots of vegan options too) called SEVA. I highly recommend it, my favorite restaurant ever. No meat products allowed through the doors :).

If only we can have this in Toronto. Cooking classes are a great way in showing Flirts or anyone how great vegan cuisine tastes.
