Juice Fasting

I am really feeling the need to do a fast but have never done one before.  Do I simply drink juice all day? And how long do I do a juice fast?  Any advice or pointers on juice fasting that has worked for you is greatly appreciated!   smiley-smile.gif

Lauren,

I would make sure you do a plan that has been set up for that purpose.  I know that the PH Miracle has a juice fast free online.  I think that there are others too- I think even the Kind Life may have one.

Hi Lauren,

You may want to buy Jay Robb's Fruit Flush diet book. I've heard so much good things about and I've read that as well and it has so much about fruits and juicing for detox and weight loss. Jay's such a great mentor. :)

I hope that helps!

Recently watched "Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead". Great inspirational movie, however provides little direction on how to do it safely, other than "consult your physician" and vary your fruits and veggies. Can anyone share any details? Personal experience with juice fasting? Benefits/side effects? I'm planning to do it for 40 days, on day 3 right now. Thank you!

I would like add another question to this thread and ask if anyone has recommendations on a good juicer.

Multiple people recommended the Breville brand, and I'm not advertising for "Fat, sick and nearly dead":). I don't have a juicer, but I looooove Blendtec blender, and blend my fruits and veggies in there with some water, pulp doesn't bother me, and you get to use one applience for 2. It's not cheap, but I've had it for over 3 years and truely, use it at least once daily. Great investment.

Hi everyone,

I have done many juice fasts, and personally really recommend the Gerson therapy juices (one is carrot and apple, while the other consists of different greens you can google them to get the exact recipes) As for the juicer, I went and invested in the best juicer (and the price tag unfortunatly reflects that) the Norwalk. It is the first juicer ever made and can mill flour from grains, juice wheat grass and make nut butter from nuts. It is soooooo worth the money. I do not recommend buying it brand new, because they last decades. I bought a used one in great shape that's 10+ years old. I am not exagerating, they last forever. Other juicers heat the fruits and veggies when grinding them and you lose alot of nutrients that way, and they do not extract nearly as much juice as they should/could. If you have the money, seriously look into the Norwalk juicer. It has changed my life. Hope that helps!

http://jointhereboot.com  Has all the info you will need!  It even has a plan completely laid out for you.  I'm starting mine in a few days...wish me luck!
