I accidentally opened a link to PETA and saw one of their videos. I am crying as I write this and know now, more than ever that I am happy I decided to go vegan. The thought that I don't stand for that treatment to my animal friends makes me feel better though right now I feel  nothing can help those that have and continue to suffer so. I only wish I can do more...

I know!!!  I watched same video and my puupy dog consoled me.. :*(

its so awful and hard to see those things. i know knowledge is power, but i really avoid watching those things if i can. its just too hard. i remember a couple years ago when there was that huge recall of meat because they had found video proving they were using "downed" animals. i was on the other side of my bedroom and i heard the newscaster say "the following images are very graphic..." and i looked up in time to see something horrible about the happen to one of the cows- i LITERALLY dived across my bed to turn it off. i was freaked out for weeks (and still am really) about the 3 seconds i saw.  stuff like this haunts me. its hard because i also find it to be the most inspiring in a way- when alicia was talking in te book about the treatment of cows that weren't paralyzed like they should be etc, i knew then that i had to be a vegetarian.

I know those videos are very hard to watch and the images can be impossible to get out of your mind.  However, says the broken record, I wholeheartedly believe they need to be seen.

It's just too easy to fall back into bad habits.  It's too easy to put things like factory farming out of your mind and to be distanced from the horrors being inflicted upon animals.  By watching somethingl ike Meet Your Meat or, for me, Earthlings it gives you a different perspective. 

I'm glad my blinders are off and watching Earthlings was the catalyst for real change in my life.  I can't believe anyone could watch that particular documentary and not be changed and that is why I think, heck, everyone needs to see it.
