Oh, I don't know if I would support this place, even though they have a "veg Monday." On their regular menu is "baby pig" and venison. :(

yeah but this is the world we live in  right  now and at least they have a veg night so by high profile beautiful peeps supporting said night they are encouraged to move towards veganism , at least one night a week. Well done Dovetail ! :) :) :)

Alicia-So funny that you just posted this! My husband and i just finished watching "the L Word" finale last night. LOVE that show! I know that we're really late in the game but we took a break watching it because we were too busy with child rearing.  Anyway....can you tell us....is Leisha really going to be in a spin off of The L word? We read that online but I never have seen any confirmation.

We need to get more fabulous vegan restaurants in CT!  I am so envious when I see all of the amazing meals you are having (and organic cocktails you are sipping) in NYC!  And being a friend of Leisha Hailey just takes the cake!  L-word and Uh Huh Her! So talented!  Alice is my all time favorite character on the show!  Hope she gets to continue what she started on Showtime!

I went to Dovetail last night after you tweeted about it -- it was indeed CRAZY good.  And yes, it's not a vegetarian/vegan restaurant, but I was excited that it was quite busy on a Monday night.  I think it's important to show restaurants that people respond to places offering great plant-based food, and if Dovetail starts pulling in crazy business on random weeknights by offering that, maybe other restaurants will realize that plant-based menus can help their bottom line too!

I live in the UK and have been vegan for over 22 years (alot easier now than then) and joined The Kind Life a week ago but this is my first comment.  I am SO jealous of all the fantastic vegan dining options you have in NYC fancy having the option of two vegan ice-cream places..  Where I live is like a desert not even a decent healthfood shop but I dine out as much as possible so chefs know we vegans are like everyone else, love to eat delicious food.  We are doing a cruise next year and we have a two day stopover in New York and I would love to get ideas on what to see and do and definitely where to eat.   I've spent hours perusing this website Alicia, its fantastic keep up the good work.
