LOOKING FOR LO-CAL VEGAN RECIPES
I am trying to lose some weight.  I eat grains, proteins, veggies, and 2 fruits a day.  Should I decrease my grains and proteins?  Does anyone have any tasty lo-cal recipes?  I am also looking for a Dieters Vegan Cookbook (If they even make one).  Look forward to hearing from you.  I keep making the same things over and over.
you should check out this blog:http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/i haven't tried anything yet, but there are tons of recipes & they all look good!
I have tried a few recipies from http://www.fatfreevegan.com and they are pretty good.  You'll get good tips in making changes to your baking for low fat options.

Just my personal experience; when eating vegan it is not as important that you "count calories" to lose weight, but rather make sure you're eating a balanced diet.  This way of eating naturally has less calories because your not eating processed foods or the dairy products that have a bunch of calories in them.

Enjoy the journey!
Veggie soup:

5 cups water
3-4 vegetable/vegetarian bouillon cubes (depending on taste and sodium concerns)
1 14oz can petite diced tomatoes
2 large carrots
2 large celery stalks
1 small onion
1 clove garlic
1 cup whole wheat rotini pasta
1 bay leaf
1 tbsp dried basil
1 tbsp dried parsley
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1 tsp black pepper

Bring water to a boil and dissolve bouillon cubes.  Add diced tomatoes and rest of ingredients except pasta.  Bring to a boil and then simmer about 30 minutes until veggies are tender.  Add pasta and simmer another 10-12 minutes until pasta is soft.  Take bay leaf out before serving.

1 cup is about 90 calories.   Virtually no fat.
