mommy & me yoga...guest blog by my friend desi bartlett

Wow! Too Long [for me] to read....but sure it's simply wonderful!!smiley-innocent.gif

That is too precious, cooed and giggled.  I can just imagine what he must have been thinking.  I'm so proud of you mommy, but seriously Yoga looks silly, and you think some of the things I do are funny, you should see you now!  :)  Love the pic.  That's so great to still do the things that make you happy and involve the baby at the same time.  I'm not a parent, but that's how it should be.  I don't think enough parents involve their kids in their lives.  That's so cool.

Its awesome that places offer this. I only wish they would off yoga to older children. My daughter who is 10 has wanted to do yoga for  years but we cant get her into any classes they all turn her away because of her age. Yet theres classes offered for mommy and me, teenagers, and adults. they somehow managed to miss the age groups of 2-13 year olds O.o do these kids not count too?

I teach Baby & Me Yoga at my studio in Tucson, AZ... and it's always a great time! For new moms who want to try some yoga at home with their little yogis, I recommend the books Itsy Bitsy Yoga and Baby Om -- both offer great instructions and illustrations, as well as guidelines for what's appropriate at different developmental stages.  For NYC moms, also check out Prenatal Yoga Center on the Upper West Side for some terrific classes!  Namaste :)

Wonderful post!! I love Mommy & Me yoga....can't wait til' we have a little one day...the sense of community and learning in the classes with experienced yogi's sounds amazing!! And the benefits for Mommy & Baby are incredible!!!

I would LOVE to learn how to teach this...but I am still working on my basic yoga practice at this point....someday!!!

Great Guest Post :-)

I had done momma and baby yoga with my daughter and loved it.  Unfortunately where I was going they cancelled Mommas and movers for toddlers yoga class so now we are doing it at home until she is old enough to go to another yoga class.  I really enjoyed the extra time to bond with my daughter and the work out we both got.

I do a dvd of mommy and me yoga at home!

I do have a question. I just made the Peach Crumble recipe and I don't know how to store the extra Kuzu Root that is in the package. Does anyone know if I can pop it in the freezer?

you can put kuzu in a jar...or keep in the package....i keep mine in a jar...

Thanks! I hope it will keep for awhile. I have a lot left!

This is so good! I just hope we have something like this in the Phlippines! I am pretty sure that many Filipino moms will be interested in this! :)
