movie to see: fat, sick, and nearly dead

I watched this movie recently.  This is the movie that pushed me on over the edge.  I've always teetered between vegan and vegetarian(-ish...still had issues letting go of fish).  I am 33 years old, and started developing loads of health fears and issues that I really shouldn't be experiencing right now.  I started the 21day Vegan Kickstart this past Monday.  I am looking forward to some positive changes in my life this year.  This movie also encouraged me to break out the juicer and start juicing!  :)

I love this movie!! I watched it twice over the past month, and it inspired my own 10 day juice fast! I'm on Day 5 now, and I'm documenting how it's going every day here. :) I also just got a new juicer so it's very exciting. Thanks for sharing, Alicia!

I have watched this documentary with my husband a few times over the past year.  I am so inspired by Joe Cross. His charge to reboot the body is amazing and when we've stuck to it, the program literally changes you for the better in every way.  I also recommend "Forks over Knives" book and documentary!  Juice On!

I watched this a few nights ago on my Kindle.  I loved it!  I found it super motivating, funny, sad and informative.  I juice once in a while and this film helped me to remember why.   I think everyone should watch it...

Hello! I also recently watched this documentary and several of my friends have done the true juice fast. They are feeling great and losing weight. I started incorporating juice into my diet 5 days ago in hopes of doing the fast. I can tell you the juice drinking has me feeling great, however, i was starving constantly and that does not make me feel as healthy as i would like. I am not having juice four times a day with two or three vegan, small portioned, healthy meals througout my day. I've lost 1.5 lbs in 5 days, have more energy and my skin looks great. I find combining the juicing with the kind diet is a great mix!

Ironically, I just watched this the other night on Netflix with my dad. It was a good one. My dad is wanting to try it, but I don't think he gets the fasting part. He drinks the juices (bottled, sadly) and eats only Atkins food bars or something. Oh well, at least he's trying.

I've seen it...very inspiring and convincing (not that I needed it as a green juice junkie).  It's a must see!

I watched this 6 months ago and it was the first step of many leading me to a vegan lifestyle.  38 lbs gone, cholesterol lower, feeling younger every day.

Thanks for reminding me that I must find the time to watch this - I have the DVD at home.

I also saw this and thought it was amazing!!! In fact when it was done I immediately went to grocery store, loaded up on fruits and veggies and came home and juiced them! I do think a straight juice diet is a little extreme but I have experienced the benefits of incorporating it into your daily routine along with other healthy food choices!

My husband and I watched this movie a couple of times this summer.  It was so inspiring that it caused me to buy a new juicer and go on a 30 day juice fast.  After that I ate a strickly plant based diet for many months.  I'm still drinking a homemade juice every day for breakfast.  I don't know if you've posted about it, but another good movie to watch about a plant-based eating lifestyle is Forks Over Knives.  Very interesting stuff!

I saw this a couple months ago and really enjoyed it! After watching it I did some research and found it's also referred to as juice FEASTING, which sounds much more inviting than fasting :-)

Here's a blog I enjoyed by Angela Stokes who documented her own 92 day juice feast: rawreform.blogspot.com. It's good motivation to try a healthy fast/feast of your own!

Yeah I enjoyed Forks Over Knives too - took my Mum to the to the Premier with Rip for that one!

Talking of my mother, she deserves the credit for introducing me to The Kind Diet - she picked up the book after deciding to join me on the journey to veganism.

Vegucated is another film I'd like to watch.

I love this film and was JUST talking to my Pap about it no more than 30 minutes ago! Hah - Juicing was one of my New Year's resolutions for 2012.

Here is the Mean Green Juice recipe from the film.

 Mean Green Juice

6 Kale Leaves
1 Cucumber
4 Celery Stalks
2 Green Apples
1/2 Lemon
1 piece of ginger

Yes!  I loved this documentary too.  I shared it with many people who I thought could gain some insight from it.  How inspiring was the truck driver at the end!?  Wow!  Proves anything is possible.
