natural products... facial cleansers
There's another great company called CONSONANT to check out:

I was under the impression that Stella McCartney's products couldn't be sold in the US anymore.  I hope that has changed, as I love the cleanser as well.....
I use REN products and love them!!!
I was also under the impression that the Stella McCartney's products weren't being sold in the US anymore...I absolutely LOVE the products (the cleanser especially!!!)  If they are sold here, I'd love to know where I can get them... I've even tried the website and can't seem to find any info.
Thanks for sharing all of these great products, Alicia!  I'm always on the lookout for great skin care.  Another line to try is Hylunia, available at select spas and dermatologists.  It's vegan, organic, cruelty free and incredibly gentle -  no ingredients that may irritate.  There is a variety of products for multiple skin types.

I also like Boscia a lot.

Body Shop is a nice alternative for very reasonable skin care.  With the exception of some products that contain honey, all of their products are vegan.

Since reading your book, my life has changed so dramatically.  I am eating better than ever before and do not feel deprived at all.  I am so much more conscious of the things that I put in and on my body.  Thank you so much!!!
This is my absolute favorite skin care line: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SpaGoddess. I love that she makes it all herself, and she really knows her stuff! I've asked so many questions in the past two years (since I've started using it) and all of her recommendations have been great. I use the Super Detox Deep Pore Facial Cleanser, Chamomile Facial Creme, Ayruvedic Facial Cleanser (for exfoliating every week or so), and the Grace Antioxidant Spray Toner. Her other products are fantastic too.
All Arbonne NutriMinC RE9 AntiAging face products are vegan and they really work.
It would be nice if we could do without such things but for me personally my skin gets very uncomfortably dry in the winter if I don't use some sort of cream. It's so nice we have so many more choices today than many years ago that are safer for us and the earth.

Thanks for this! It's so hard to know what goes into a lot of beauty products. I'll definitely give these a try. And am greatly looking forward to the next post!
Walter, I agree we should be happy with what we were born with however we do need to take care of our skin by gently cleansing it and properly replenishing lost moisture. Our skin needs to breath and regenerate and that is done partly by keeping it clean and generally I just feel better when I use my lotion to replenish lost moisture. I created my own line of skin care products without the use of harsh chemicals but we do need to also be wary of the sun's damaging effects (our skin's worst enemy) so protect yourself! Take care..

I haven't tried any of these products, but think I'd like to check some of them out!  Thanks for sharing.  I actually use Origins (and have for the past 16 years) and LOVE it!!  There are tons of options depending on your type of skin and the men and women that work at the stores are always more than helpful with makeup and products!! http://www.origins.com/home.tmpl
I like Aztec Secret bentonite clay mixed with organic apple cider vinegar as a mask. It really pulls all the grime out from your pores and is good for acne, but as it dries and starts crackling on your face it's a bit intense.
L'Uvalla has really nice products as well!
I am a skincare fanatic and am getting so many ideas from this post! Can't wait for the next one. I am a current Origins devotee. They have a lot of vegan products, and I love their cruelty-free legacy!
Mychelle has some great products too!
