No weight loss-2 weeks in

I was hoping that along with this new lifestyle I would also be able to shed a few pounds.  If anything I think that I have gained a few pounds since starting.  I think I am absolutely consuming too many calories and I think I have to be a little more concerned with portion control then Alicia is.  Anyone have anytihng to add?  Words of encouragement?  Thanks!

You'll get wherever you want to go if you stay strong. Some people lose weight when they go vegan, others gain weight. Like any diet or lifestyle change, every BODY is different for everybody. Watch calories if you like but also look at your macronutrients. Count them. You might be surprised to see how high or low those are coming in. Also, the more you can stay away from all packaged good - the more likely you are to lose weight. Everytime I hit a weight loss wall, I go "clean" and make all my food for a week and WHAM the pounds fly. Instant reboot lol. 

I gained some weight when I started this journey too.  I think I felt that since I was "giving up" so much...the meat, dairy and eggs,... that I was entitled to eat my fill of french fries, vegan cupcakes, veggie burgers, Daiya filled quesadillas (although I still have those in moderation), and boxes of crackers with hummus.  My portions were really out of whack.  I have recently started to take my vegan lifestyle, and marry it with my old Weight Watchers points program, and the pounds are coming off.  For me, its all about keeping the processed foods to a minimum, not being so liberal with the oil and sugar, and measuring portions honestly.  I hope this helps you.  I do believe this is a great lifestyle, but for me, I need to be more careful about calories in and calories out. 

Hi Lauren. I've found that you really have to watch the carbs. I lost 20 lbs when I went vegan almost 2 years ago. I was Superhero about 60% of the time and ate pretty healthily the rest of the time. Then I discovered vegan bakeries and ice cream and regained 15. I wasn't really overdoing it either (or at least I didn't think so) but the combination of too many dinners out and vegan baked goods were enough to cause the pounds to creep back on.

Try following Superhero at least half the time. It works. I'm finally beginning to lose again.
