So I was browsing Whole Foods today and ran into Nori in the seaweed section. I've never tried this before and wouldn't know how to cook/eat it? Anyone else try it?

I've only ever used it to roll sushi, not sure what else it ca be used for.
Make wraps with them, I love that. You can pretty much put anything (great for leftovers) inside that you like! Also you can make them small pieces and add them to soups, grains for their healthy benefiets! :)
Thanks everyone. I noticed they were sold in packages at Whole Foods. I'm thinking an Asian market may have fresh products. I'm going to add Nori to a miso soup recipe of mine.
I am not sure but I think they supposed to be dry :) The prefered ones are even toasted... :)
I picked up some Roasted Nori at an Asian market yesterday. I'm going to try it in Miso Soup first off, then attempt to make some wraps with a tofu egg salad recipe I found. Any other suggestions on what to stuff inside the seaweed?
It's great to just cut in strips or crumble and add to stir fry's or soup. It's a great way to add sea veggies into your diet.
I eat it plain. LOL I love Nori! It's the thing I tear into on the way home from the grocery store. I also take a bit of rice with seasoning and a nori sheet to yoga. I roll it up and munch on it in the car on the way home. I also give Nori to my dog as a treat - she loves it. The Pit Bull stole the pack of Nori off the counter and she is not a counter surfer!
Ha! Kelly! I love your pit bull story! reminds me of my crazy rescue dog Ellie -- I had grocery shopped earlier and left some room temperature items out on the counter. Then we went out to dinner. When I came back there were tiny orange things all over the floor and the shag rug. Then I figured out what they were. Ellie had grabbed a giant raw sweet potato from the island counter and had eaten most of it in a frenzy! She loves her veggies!
Back to nori: I love to put leftovers in a sheet of nori too. I have found that if they are very moist, they quickly make the nori a little soggy, so do it right before you eat it. I don't mind it soggy, but you may not want to serve it to others that way.
I'm going to make wraps this weekend. I added the Nori to miso soup yesterday and loved it!
Is Kombu the same?
Hey Mark,
What is your miso soup recipe? I haven't made the mac and cheese yet because I need to lose 30+ pounds, but I will keep the recipe.
