I have a Crazy 8 popcorn maker which is great - does the same thing as the pot but you don't have to shake it and it looks cool. OK I admit it I am super lazy :-). The food looks great thank you for sharing.

wow! how nice to have access to such great places and to have friends who get so excited about great clean food! I will try the pppcorn method. I always burn it!
i feel the same exact way about 4th of july. i HATE fire crackers... think they are a waste of money and i dread how the animals react to them.
it stems from raising horses for so long i guess. one time i watched our neighbors fire off fire crackers in their horse's pasture. they ran their OWN horses straight through a barbed wire fence and one of them got pretty badly cut up... i don't understand people at all.
I am going to try that popcorn! It sounds fabulous. :) I should sneak it into the movie theater too.

How do you sneak THAT sized bag of popcorn into the theater!? We have nazi theater people here!! Would love to have my own organic popcorn and "Butter " on it!! I'm too old to look "pregnant"!
I love that you guys sneak popcorn into the theater! I hate that theater concessions have gotten SO expensive. We don't go to the movies very often, and that's part of the reason why. The last time we went, it was so hot outside, and I was so thirsty, so I got a bottle of water. A small bottle that costs maybe $1.99 at a convenience store was $4.25 at the theater! It's ludicrous. Maybe next time we go, we'll sneak in some popcorn, and maybe a couple of bottles of water too!
I live near a stadium where we have firework displays on a constant basis. As a kid, my dog would get super excited and jump up, trying to "eat" the colors. It is too bad there aren't eco-friendly options for fireworks, but I do admit I love the shows.
The food looks delish, Alicia.
I love making my own popcorn. Popcorn is one of my top five favorite foods! I highly suggest adding Cajun Seasoning to your Earth Balance butter. So delightful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is awesome! kudos to you Alicia and Christopher!
this is how I always make my popcorn, only instead of the soy butter I put fresh lemon juice on it. It's so good.
I don't exactly care for the way people celebrate the 4th either- fireworks are illegal and dangerous (well illegal in NY and Long Island).....the animals and the environment suffer, as well as the veterans that deployed and really do not want to hear the loud expolsions going on anymore!! Let's respect and honor our veterans without them we would have no AMERICA and NO FREEDOMS!!
Awesome idea with the popcorn- I'll be hitting the movies this weekend with my bag o' popcorn!!
Actually I just had some popcorn, air popped (although I must admit I added melted Earth Butter- yum.....I will chill with adding that though!!)....I will also bring my own filtered water!----SSHHHH......
And I thought I was stuck with plain popcorn forever, Hallelujah !
I'm so excited about trying the to make the popcorn! I want to defiantly make it with my dad, he also loves popcorn! I totally agree with you Alicia about the fireworks; ever since I was little I was scared of fireworks, and i felt uneasy when ever I saw the smoke that stayed int he sky; feeling as if it was damaging the environment. Your not the only scrooge! :)
I hate the 4th of July holiday . I have 3 dogs that are terrified of the fireworks and it's not just one night but people are continuously setting them off in June, July and even through August. Grrrrrr!
