pantry staples

Hey

I'm getting started and cleaning out my pantry and just want to know what staples I should have in my fridge/pantry (especially in the form of grains) etc. Also what supplements should I be taking as well?? Any hints or tips would be great

Thanks! smiley-laughing.gif

I stock up on red and green lentils, chickpeas, navy beans, steel cut oats, millet, whole barley, brown rice, quinoa (both red and regular), flaxseed, whole wheat couscous, whole wheat pasta, and canned black and red beans, to start!

I know vegans need B12 supplements for sure, unless you eat nutritional yeast on a daily basis.  Other than that, I take a flaxseed oil supplement and Vitamin D.

Good luck and have fun!

I always keep:

Grains-rolled oats, brown rice, barley, millet, quinoa, sticky rice, flours, noodles

Proteins-dry beans and canned beans, hummus, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, peanut/almond butter, tahini

Veggies-anything seasonal that I'm in the mood for! Mostly carrots, celery, leafy greens, onions, sweet potatoes, and sometimes things like peppers and cucumbers

Fruit-raisins, seasonal fruit, bananas

Other-brown rice syrup, sea vegetables like hijiki, nori, and kombu, crispy rice cereal to make rice crispy treat things that are soo delicious, (in the cookbook) different sugarless natural cereals, rice milk (unsweetened), crackers, larabars, dates, other yummy un processed things that you like.

Those are just things I like to have in a well stocked pantry. I'm really trying to do superhero so it's not too exciting, but I really do bake a lot and I cook crazy stuff so I loosen up around then. Good luck!

Great thanks for the advice!!

I am definately going to have to cook the peanut butter cups everyone on here seems to love them!!

The peanut butter cups are perfect for year round and set in the refrigerator. You're really going to like them.
