Pasta...friend or foe???

In The Kind Diet   (page 144) Alicia mentions that "pastas are also really easy and versatile...". Tonight at dinner a friend of mine told me that pasta has EGGS in it. I am SOOOOO confused. I know egg noodles contain egg. But what about regular whole wheat pasta????

Please help!!!

Thanks,

If you're dining at a nice Italian restaurant that makes their own pasta, most likely there is egg in it... Other than that, store bought wheat, brown rice, quinoa, etc. pastas should not have egg, so don't worry! It's really only the freshly made pastas you have to worry about..

Wow, I didn't even think about eggs being in pasta.  Thanks for your answer Kate, that's awesome to know.

An authentic Italian restaurant should NOT be putting eggs in their pasta, because that is not how pasta is traditionally made!  I'd say 80% of pastas you can also buy at the store do not have egg in them either.  Just read the labels.  It really shouldn't be a huge issue, as the majority of pastas don't have egg in them.
