Pecan-crusted seitan--modification
So I made this recipe last night but the seitan I got was in small pieces, not large ones (it was in a tofu-like container, so avoid this one if you can), so instead of frying them I just put the sauce & seitan in the oven like a casserole.  Added the pecans as a topping after 25 min at 350 & let it bake another 10 minutes.  Then served on steamed swiss chard.  Absolutely delicious!  The sauce was quite strong with all the tarragon, etc, so if you're not into strong flavors I might reduce the spice factor somewhat.
Also, Purely Decadent Coconut Milk Turtle Trails--divine!
Happy cooking :)

That's the same kind of seitan I used when I made the recipe...some pieces were more like little nuggets but they came out tasty.  Your variation sounds really good--did you just put plain pecans on the top or was it the flour mixture?

I'm curious as to the turtle trails...is that a recipe in the book?

Purely Decadent is a fantastic brand of vegan ice cream, made by Turtle Mountain. All of their ice cream is delicious, I can't wait to try the coconut milk varieties!
yeah, the coconut milk varieties are way good!  although i also had the (soy?) praline pecan variety yesterday, which was similarly fantastic.

joan, for the topping i just sprinkled chopped pecans, but i'm sure it would be good with a heavier topping, too.

happy feasting!
