pinwheel bakery in detroit

Thank goodness I don't live in or near the area.....I'd be there everyday!!

They look absolutely yummy. Just as well I'm in England!

This is SO awesome :)  Thank you so so much Alicia.... we are going to be visiting my husbands family in Oct and they live in the Detroit area so it will be nice to try some of these vegan desserts

It's nice to know that our fearless leader and mentor has her own Achilles heel!  These things are the death of me!  Glad I'm in Colorado!

OMG, those look good! My next mission is trying to bake some vegan stuff for us at home. Not thrilled about carob though. :)

Pinwheel is within walking distance from my house - it is dangerous!  And you can walk right across the street to the Natural Food Patch health food store to buy Peanut Butter Zig Zag soy ice cream to go with your yummy Pinwheel vegan treats.

More local delicious vegan goodies can be found at Sugar Kisses bakery in Berkley - http://www.sugarkissesbakery.com/

Inn Season Cafe in Royal Oak has  a whole menu of vegan baked goods in addition to amazing food - http://www.theinnseasoncafe.com/menu.html

If you need any more suggestions for good vegan food in the metro area, let me know!

Good thing I don't really have that big of a sweet tooth. But I do enjoy vegan chocolate here and there.

I have a HUUUGGEE SWEET TOOTH. Are you saying that you can't necessarily pig out on vegan sweet foods and get away with it??? :(

Thank you for the new place to try! I live in Troy so Ferndale is just a short drive away! I am also excited to try the other places suggest by Jennifer. Thanks!

I grew up in Ferndale!  Now I live in Atlanta, but I will definitely check it out when I go home to visit...Mom still lives in Royal Oak :)

Alicia.....JUST eat the brownie!!!!!  (K, half a brownie then)   I have made a very yummy pot of beans (17 beans from TJs) with the trinity and some other random items I threw in, turned out VERY good!   I needed a way to find my protien source again!

wow! it looks great!

Hopefully there are more bakeries of its kind in Barcelona!

oatmeal ginger date pecan!!! PLEASE will some clever cook think up a recipe so I can make me some of these? yum yum yum

Traclyn--I am not a carob fan either.  We use grain-sweetened chocolate which you should be able to find in health food stores.  Whole Foods also sells their own vegan chocolate to bake with.  Good luck!

If you are looking for any more vegan treats while in the Detroit area, try what crepe? in Royal Oak  and Sugar Kisses Bakery in Berkley....both have a selection of vegan treats...sometimes Sugar Kisses even has vegan truffles!
