please help, questions about nasonex nose seroids

My 9 year old daughter is having a problem with fluid behind her eardrums. I took her to the doctor and the doctor wants to put her on nasal steroids (nasonex). I really don't like medications and perfer the natural way of healing.I told the doctor this and she said that "sometimes we need medications and now is one of those times" She also mentioned the gluten could be the culprit but I should try the mediction first and to come back in one month to see how it worked. I felt kind of bullied,. She said I can do my own research but 80% of the things I'll find on the internet are wrong and if I don't do the meds then the alternative is sergury (tubes in the ears). In the end she told me I could do both the gluten free diet and the meds. Has anyone dealt with this kind of problem on here? I don't want my daughter to suffer with fluid in her ears which is causing dizziness and muffled hearing but I also don't want to turn staight to drug. Kind of lost here and any help would be greaty apperciated! Thank you

I take Nasacort AQ, which is a prescription nasal spray also. I don't take it all the time, but there are times when it absolutely helps.  I too believe in finding natural alternatives, but sometimes medications are necessary.  I have severe allergies, and this is the ONLY thing that helps when they flair up.  The alternative is suffering and being sick.  This is your child and you obviously want to do what is best for her.  Maybe get a second opinion?

Allergies are partially caused by a dysfunction of the adrenal glands. The reason the steroids help is because they are substituting what your adrenal glands arent outputting naturally such as immuno modulating corticosteroids.

But what the steroids do is give the adrenal glands a quick fix and in turn weaken them further making you more relient on the alternative steroid source. The causes the adrenal glands to atrophy like all steroids do with there various glands.

Allergies are better countered by building up the adrenal glands, i had multiple chemical sensitivity and many many allergies including the food variety and managed to get rid of them all.
