I became vegan at the end of May, got pregnant in July and am now 10 weeks pregnant. Until this past week, I was eating in a fully vegan way, with perhaps only one slip up. However, this week I am craving cheese...bad. I had a frozen cheese lasagna in the freezer that we hadn't yet gotten rid of, and ate the whole thing within a 24 hour period!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I ate it, I felt a calm rush over me, and I seriously needed more. I'm wondering if my body is missing something, and I don't want to deprive my growing baby of anything she needs. I'm not sure whether to listen to the cravings, or try my best to refrain. I still am eating mostly vegan, but I'm craving lasagna or something along those lines again. I may have to re-read Alicia's chapter on dairy in the hopes that it might squash the cravings, but I really don't know what to do. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I wonder if anyone else had these cravings during pregnancy and what they did about them!? Thanks!
