Ok... I haven't gotten my period without the add of pills since I was 16. So last Sept I gave up dairy and I started to feel better and I started to loose weight, then one morning about 5 months ago I woke up and said I'm not going to eat meat. I'm now down 35 pounds and as of this morning I HAVE my period!! No pills, no doctors! Coulod this be bye bye PCOS? Could I have actually defeated this illness? OMG! I'm just so excited! Anyways, thats all. I had to share.

Kelly, you have kicked PCOS!  Congrats and keep up the great job!
Phenomenal! My coworker's 16 yr old daughter was just diagnosed with this and I have told her about my diet a bit but now I have  a real motivator for sharing more with her. Thank you!

Justin, Thank you! this makes me feel so good. Its nice to know that making this descion has changed my life so much for the better.

Manya, what makes this even sweeter for me is I only have 1 ovary. My husband and I did IVF for a year with no viable pregnancy and now I'm getting my period on my own. This is making me feel so good, I'm thinking anything is possible.

Anything IS possible.

This is so great! I have a similar experience;
I didn't get my first period until I was about 16, which was pretty late compared to all my friends at the all-girl high school I went to. It also was extremely irregular, I would only get it every few months, sometimes only two or three times a year. I went to the doctor, nothing was out of the ordinary, so I just figured it was normal for some women. The most annoying part about having such an irregular period was that I never knew when it was going to come, I never really got any symptoms until it was too late. So this meant I was always worried & self-conscious, especially if I was out in public. I was always checking until eventually I just started wearing pads almost every time I went out, just in case!
Now to the good news, I've been vegetarian for about four or five months now, as well as limiting my dairy to only maybe one slice of cheese every few days (I intend to eliminate dairy completely soon). The past three months, my period has been regular! Not only do I get it every month now, but I know exactly when it is coming! I've had it three times in a row, which is a first for me. It's such a big relief! Not only because now I can go out without being self-conscious, but I used to worry that my irregular periods might one day affect my chances of getting pregnant, now I don't worry about that at all!
I've also lost a lot of weight & I'm feeling so great! & I have The Kind Diet to thank for it :) yay!
xoxo

Jen, sorry its taken me so long to respond. Your sucess makes my heart full. I am hoping to get my peroid next month, if not the following month. I have 1 ovary so it is possible for it to come every other month. I will admit that if i don't get it next month I will be taking a pregnacy test. My husband and I are over the moon at the thought of being pregnat naturally. One step at a time is my mind process right now. I'm down 40 pnds now and hope to loose about 30 more. I want to be about 160 in the end. I'm going to cross my fingers and pray that my health keeps getting better.

Thanks everyone for your support and sharing your sucesses with me, it fills my with a great amount of hope.
Kelly - I didn't see your post first time around but have just picked it up now as it's in the active discussions list.  That is really exciting - and what a powerful difference this change in what you eat has made.  My goodness, I'm a little taken aback to think what an enormous change has taken place in you after having to rely on medical solutions before.  This is a seriously inspirational story.

I'm still flirting with the Kind Diet, taking it very gently.  But happenings like this make me want to make more of a commitment.

Congratulations!!  And I hope that there are lots more wonderful, miraculous changes to come.

Maria
