Sore Throat....Help!
Hi! I am hoping someone can help me. I went vegan about 3 weeks ago, and I have to say it's been awsome expect for one thing. I gradually started to get a soar throat. It's pretty mild, feels more like my throat and lymph nodes in my neck are swollen. It's bothersome more then it is painful. Also the back sides of my tongue are a tiny bit sore. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or are experiencing the same thing? I sometimes wonder if it may have a mild soy or nut allergy but I have never had this problem before I went vegan. I have been eating a very clean diet and 100% Vegan.Other then that, I feel great! Ive been taking Zumba twice a week, plus ballet and I can't believe the energy I have in class, I used to not be able to keep up. I have also lost 5 pounds so I really don't want to give up the vegan thing, and I love animals and the environment way too much.
What I've been eating- Breakfast is either a Tempeh and Veggie Hash or Oatmeal with fruit. A couple of times a week I will have a bowl of miso for a snack. Lunch is sometimes a Burrito or leftovers from dinner the night before, and Dinner is usually something from TKD, or a veggie + grain dish. Oh, and I have been splitting a Peanut Butter Cup a few times a week with my husband.
When I went superhero my throat became so sore i sounded like a gravelly old woman. I think it was due to detox. It went away by itself after about 5 or 6 days.
Hi Michelle! I am glad Im not alone :)You said it went away after 5-6 days? How far into your diet were you? I am just concerned because I am going into my 4th week.
Well I've been mostly vegan for 5 years. I would cheat with cheese or foods with egg or milk in them like cookies, cake and such.  But I had become superhero and had stopped my cheating for like 2 or 3 weeks. And the sugar, I gave it up but now I don't miss it because I LOVE the brown rice syrup SOOO much.
